I ordered 2 items online to be shipped to me of which I received.. Unfortunately, it did not fit. I drove my car, my gas to the nearest Belk and retuned the merchandise. I was credited ONLY for the merchandise and NOT the shipping cost. I am a 73 year old senior only on social security. After calling customer service 2 x and it is not their policy to refun shipping cost, means I was charged for shipping even though I do NOT have merchandise to show for it. I will NOT shop at Belk again nor order anything on line so they canno make money from THIS senior who is just trying to make ends meet.Review from Phyliss H

On 10/12 was in the ******** store shopping for another Body Shaper due to a recent mastectomy. I asked for assistance from Associate: ******. I advise I was wearing a ********** brand and I wanted to try another brand. The young lady had very little knowledge about the products in that department but I took the information, thank her and continued to search. During the search, I stopped and stood in the department for maybe twenty minutes or so because I realized that I had not sent out an important reminder text to the group of Ladies that I meet with on Saturday nights. After I made my decision on two BodyShaper's, I left the department and walked down to the men's department to find my husband a belt. After about 20 minutes a young made came to me and made a joke, I ask could he check me out with the three items ( two shapers and one belt) he looked at the the young lady, on my right, it was the associate that advised me about the shaper, the man that worked for your company said she can help you.I looked at the associate and said are you looking for me, she said yes ( she looked to see what was in my hand). I said I have shopped at Belks for years and NEVER had I had an associate follow me from one department to look for me in another department. This made me very uncomfortable, my husband said it best, she thought I was going to steal . She was very obvious, I am asking for training for this associate. Also tell this young lady, Belks have security cameras and I am sure security, would have watch me and not make me feel VERY disrespected. I have a Belks card and I often shop on line. If you asked the young lady, I am sure she will remember me, I was pleasant and kind, even after I realized that she was operating in decent.I only Pray that she is HONEST, TRUTHFUL and FORTHCOMING and not LIE just to save her job ( smh) in regards to her actions based on her suspicious thoughts about me. I was interviewed for a position at belk's in ******** ******** for the team lead beauty position I have been manager of ****** I have been an assistant manager of a store I am definitely qualified I worked at the counter manager of ***** ****** and Clinique at ******* department store I went for the interview it was not happy with the manager her name is ***** I do not know her last name as I proceeded to tell her my qualifications which she could have looked and seen my resume she had another person to be interviewed the next day at 3:00 and then she'd make the decision well I received a text from her saying that the person they picked was qualified above me I feel like I was being discriminated and I will never shop at that belk's in ******** ******** or give them my business and I feel that the manager there her sense of humor was as dry as cardboard she had no humor she was just *****.Review from Judy S

I worked at Belk from 4-24 untill 9-24. What you are about to read is something I witnessed and reported. I worked at a cosmetic counter at Belk. I have resigned from Belk. There was an employee that brought 2 baby rats and a baby squirrel to work with her in a cosmetic bag. This person worked with me at the cosmetic counter. I took a video of this employee ( with this employees permission) petting and caressing these rodents during a work day. This employee would take these rodents out of the cosmetic bag they were kept in at work and handled them during work hours and put them back in the cosmetic bag. This bag of rodents was found to have f**** in the bag as the bag was in this employees care for 8 hours a day. This person would go back to work selling, and applying cosmetics and skin care to the public after opening and petting these rodents. I could not believe what I was witnessing. This person, at one point, placed this bag of rodents on the register counter. This person picked up the cosmetic bag that day and left work for the day. I was not there for two days. When I returned to work, this person had these rodents with them again. At the end of that day this person put the cosmetic bag with the rodents in a drawer of a skin care display case. Expensive skin care products we sell to the public are in that case. I retrieved this bag of rodents from the drawer in the display case and I took the bag to Belks Human Resource Department. They looked in the bag and saw the rodents. I also reported it to my manager and also upper Management and to Belk Corporation in N.C. Ive heard nothing back from the Human Resource Department or Management at the Belk Store I worked at nor have I heard from Belk Corporation. This employee was back at work the day after I resigned. Handling disease carrying rodents and then contact with the public is unacceptable. I can not work for a company that has no concern for the health and safety of employees or the public they serve.Review from Christopher M

I have been using Belk for a couple years and they have always been good. I ordered 2 ** **** flannels from the ($55 each when the other stores wanted $138) on Tuesday night and got them Friday morning.Review from Anita G

I returned a pair of earrings to corporate, they received them back on September 3rd, signed in by PresleyI have called them 3 or 4 times about my credit. Second call I was given a case number. Yesterday I didnt get any answers to my questions from ********, who told me she would have a manager call me back but no one called me back. I called this morning and spoke to ******* , no satisfaction BUT I got another case number. I got the run around again. They will look into it. The First case number was second case number ******* order number was I first took them back to the store and I was told I had to get authorization, which I did. I did everything I was suppose to do and as I told *******, you immediately got my money when I ordered these and now you have had your merchandise since September 3rd and I want my money. I bought a gold chain on 6/24/24, and it just broke today 8/7/24. I called and Belk cant do anything about this because its past the 30 day ***** They have lost my business forever but Im sure they dont care. Buyer beware!!!Review from Joseph B

In May 2024, I was made aware of an outstanding discount on a product I wanted to purchase on Belk. I placed my order, and it was cancelled after a couple of days. I placed the order again with the same result, and a third time with a different card -- with the same result again. I reached out to customer service online and by phone on multiple occasions. Every time, service was surprisingly incompetent and unhelpful. I am inclined to believe that the entire engagement, down to the discount code, was a scam. It appears that other customers have had similar problems. Their business capacity is profoundly underwhelming, and I would urge everyone to avoid Belk to the utmost extent.Review from Teresa S

I purchased two $100 egift cards for $160. I used one. A few days later I tried to enter the 2nd gift card into the Belk's app. Got a message that the gift card had already been applied to a purchase. I called Cashstar. They said it had been used and I needed to talk with customer service about the issue. **************** said no it was Cashstar issue and transferred me back to Cashstar. Got cut off. Called customer service again and asked for a supervisor. Put on hold for 1 1/2 hrs. Called customer service again and asked for a manager. Again put on hold for an hour. Called corporate headquarters and as for a manager put on hold for 30 minutes. Called corporate again and they gave me a case number. Two weeks later still have not heard from anyone at Belk's. Called customer service again this morning. I asked for an $80 refund for the unusable egift. She said they couldn't refund my money but would be happy to place an order for me. I refused the offer. I tried to explain my frustration with Belk's lack of response to my issue. She hung up on me. I have spent over 6 hours trying to resolve the problem. Belk's has done absolutely nothing to correct their error. I have been a very loyal customer for a number of years. I will NOT be shopping there for a long while. When your supervisors and managers will not take calls your company has serious customer service problemsReview from Lia G

I have been a customer with *******************************. I recently purchased $1000 worth of Christmas items in December 2023. I paid off my card in March 2024 and I received an account cancellation in July 2024. I wrote the company to find out why my account was cancelled and they said it was because the account was inactive. I am disappointed that they only sent one physical mail as notice (not an email or phone call) before the account was closed. As a customer of more than 10 years, this was very poor customer service.
