It began with my family going on vacation leaving May 31. On June 3rd, 2022 my pet sitter contacted me to let me know my dog was bleeding from her mouth and the bleeding wouldn't stop. She called my regular vet and they said if she wasn't in pain to keep an eye on her but if bleeding persisted to take her to an emergency vet. June 4th the bleeding seemed to slow down however on June 5th my pet sitter noticed my dog was not eating now and the bleeding picked up again. We called points east and they told my pet sitter to bring her in. She gets there and they examine my dog for about 2 minutes and decide that she is fine and just suffering from a cut on her gum and it should bleed like that. My pet sitter then says that my dog is not eating either and they said that it wouldn't be related to the cut and released her to go home without testing. They called me and said the same thing. They told us it was normal and it will heal on its own. Her condition isn't getting better and when I get back the next day to pick her up she starts coughing blood up. So we rush her to the same emergency vet as it's the closest one that's open. It turns out that she had been poisoned and it caused her blood not to clot so the cut never healed. They told us she was in critical condition and would need to stay overnight for plasma transfusions. I now have spent $1950 and have multiple follow up appointments that have to be scheduled for my dog. This could have been prevented had they fully assessed her and taken our concerns seriously. Even when we were at the vet, unfortunately they were short staffed, we still waited 3 hours to be seen because they felt she wasn't critical and needed to be tested which in turn made her condition even worse. There was a lot of blood on the floor and she almost collapsed but they still felt she wasn't critical. This would have been prevented like I said if they took us seriously before. It also states we were seen the day before in the paperwork
