      On Oct 16, 2024 I utilized the 7 day free trial to download 1 document. Website said you can cancel anytime to prevent further billing, so I cancelled same day. While checking my bank statement on Nov 16, I found a $49.95 charge from Legal Templates, *************. I emailed them immediately to ask for a refund and they replied Nov 17 that they were cancelling my subscription, but not refunding my $49.95. I know I cancelled it, this appears to be a business scam technique...and am requesting my refund of $49.95

      I was seeking a legal document that was advertised as "free." The website directed me toward the template creator and I spent around 45 minutes filling in the details of the legal document. After collecting a lot of legal information from me and completing the document I was then sent to a separate page to sign up for their service. I made an account and then was directed to another page where I had to provide credit card information and pay for the document. I feel like this business falsely advertised a free legal document, had me waste 45 minutes inputting information, and only then tell me the full requirements of procuring the document. A clear example of bait and switch. They seem to rely on the "sunken cost fallacy" to urge people to pay them. They should be completely upfront and tell people that the customer will have to sign up, provide billing information, and be placed on a subscription plan to download any documents from them. A huge waste of my time and a bad way of doing business.

      On April 13, 2024, I signed up for a seven-day free trial on the Legal Templates website. As part of this trial, I paid one dollar and downloaded one form. Before the trial period ended, I canceled my subscription, believing I had taken the necessary steps to avoid any charges. To my surprise, I discovered a series of unauthorized monthly charges made to my credit card in the amount of $39.95, totaling $239.70. To understand what had happened, I checked my inbox and spam folder for any communication from Legal Templates regarding my subscription status or any ongoing charges. Aside from the initial email that confirmed my signing up for the trial, I found no further notifications or reminders related to my account or the ending of the trial period On October 8, 2024, I contacted the Legal Templates customer care team, to dispute the unauthorized charges and cancel my subscription. They agreed to refund me for only two months of charges but required me to sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) before any reimbursement could be processed. This request raised immediate red flags about their business practices. I refused to sign the *** and escalated my complaint to a supervisor. After a series of back-and-forth emails, the supervisor eventually offered me a conditional three-month refund. Initially, when I pressed for a full refund, they insisted that company policy prohibited refunds beyond a two-month limit. Nevertheless, I was still required to agree and sign the NDA.This experience has led me to question the transparency and ethical standards of Legal Templates business practices. It raises serious concerns: Why would a reputable company withhold what appears to be my rightful refund and insist on confidentiality? I seeking assistance to reclaim the full amount of $239.70 that was charged to my account without my knowledge or consent. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.        I am rejecting this response because:  I am writing to address the issues regarding my subscription. As I've stated before on multiple occasions, the subscription was canceled before the end of the trial period, yet this cancellation has not been reflected in my account. I did not receive any confirmation email, but my credit card has been charged monthly without my consent or any notification from your company. this situation is perplexing, as I have not utilized the service since the trial period concluded, and it seems illogical to maintain an active subscription for a service no longer needed

      I demand a thorough and transparent explanation for the lack of communication regarding my cancellation and why it was not processed. When I contacted Legal Templates on October 8, 2024, I was offered a refund for two months on the condition of signing a nondisclosure agreement, which I find unacceptable. Furthermore, after escalating my concerns to a supervisor, I was offered a three-month refund despite being previously told that company policy limits refunds to two months. It is disappointing that instead of fully resolving this issue and refunding my money, you have offered me yet again a two-month refund and reiterated your refund policy.

      Your companys approach to refunds seems inconsistent, as evidenced by the conflicting information Ive received. I also require a clear explanation for the insistence on a nondisclosure agreement. My research has uncovered numerous similar complaints on the web and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. Unfortunately, I will not accept your current offer and insist on the full refund to which I am unequivocally entitled. Thank you.

      Thank you for your response; I found it quite intriguing. It seems that you addressed only one of my questions and repeatedly posed the same inquiry back to me. I would like to offer a more comprehensive explanation in hopes that it illuminates the situation for you. I encourage you to revisit my previous emails for clarity, but I'm more than willing to answer your questions again in a detailed manner.

      You mentioned that your system indicated my attempt to cancel the account was not processed successfully, which is why I continued to incur monthly charges. While I appreciate that you verified my cancellation attempt, it's concerning that your system failed to successfully complete the cancellation. Despite this, my credit card was charged without my consent or knowledge, which is unacceptable. Regarding the documentation you referred to, I, too, possess copies of the emails and screenshots from the customer care interactions.

      On two separate occasions, your company proposed two different refund amounts: one for two months and another for three months. Interestingly, both of these offers came only after you cited a policy that supposedly prohibits refunds for more than two months. Furthermore, each of these offers was contingent upon my agreement to a non-dispute clause. Since your responses seem to neglect several of my questions, let me restate the core issues succinctly. As previously mentioned, I submitted my cancellation request before the end of the free trial. However, I cannot explain why it failed to process successfully. Had I been made aware that my subscription remained active, and had your company demonstrated transparency by notifying customers about ongoing credit card charges, I would have canceled the subscription and avoided this predicament altogether. I have several pressing questions regarding your company's operations:


      1. Why does your company lack transparency and fail to provide email notifications regarding ongoing credit card charges?
      2. Why are there inconsistent policies regarding refund amounts?
      3. Why was there an insistence on signing a non-dispute agreement to receive my refund?
      4. Why did your representatives claim they lacked access to the portal to confirm whether I used the service, yet you later confirmed that you could check your system to verify my cancellation attempt?

      This company will **** you out if your hard earned money. I did a 7 day trial to which I had to put in my credit card information in order to do the trial. Ive been called back within the seven days to cancel the trial and was told that they did not have an account on my name. I looked upon my check account and noticed that $49 have been deducted from my account for **********************. I called to have this Refunded and explain the situation. It was told that I could not get my money back due to the fact that I went past seven days. The representative was very sneaky and kept me on the phone for almost an hour talking to me about the services and how they can improve as she was pretending to process my refund only to tell me after 47 minutes that she could not give me my refund, but she would cancel my account and I wouldnt be charged again. Life is expensive without companies, trying to rob us. After about an hour and her Conferring with the accounting department I was told that my refund would be processed. I just want to warn others. Do not use this company and get yourself caught up in this web of lies and deceit.

      I contacted LEGAL TEMPLATES LLC on October 18th 2024 asking for a refund of $49.95 because my card was reported as fraud. They said they would refund my account but never confirmed my new card number. They told me the refund occurred on 10/20 which was a Sunday, the funds were taken out on 10/21. They do not communicate well and I have had people hang up on me numerous times. They said because the system shows the refund processed on their end there is nothing they can do. So they agreed to refund the funds to a card that doesn't exist so they could say they sent a refund when in actuality no refund was given. I can give any other information from my financial institution supporting the claim that the card is not valid and the funds were not returned. This company is a scam and I am disgusted with how I am being treated by them. I just want my refund sent so I can be done with this company and advise others to stay far away from them as well.
