On November 30th, 2022, I officially handed in all of my keys, stickers and parking permits to the manager ****** in *************, *******************************************************************************************. We were faithful tenants for over 5 years. I was told the day before by assistant manager *********************, that I should turn everything in by the close of the next business day. I complied, and even hired someone to come and professionally clean the apartment. I was notified a couple of weeks later that I had to pay over $800 for December ****. I informed them that I was under the belief that once I surrendered the keys and passes, my obligation was fulfilled, especially since I was instructed to do that. When they informed me that I was still liable for the apartment, I instructed them by phone and email, that if I had to pay, they are to return the keys, passes and stickers to me. I informed them that my daughter would be stopping by the next day to retrieve such items since we were out of the country. I also stated that I did not want anything or anyone in the apartment until after December 11, 2022. My daughter showed up at the office and requested the keys, passes and stickers that belonged to the apartment. Instead, she was escorted up to the apartment by *********************** (office staff), who attempted to enter the apartment. ************** was unable to enter the apartment because the locks were changed to allow the vendors in. ************** stated, she had no idea why her keys would not work. My daughter was allowed in the next day to retrieve the cable equipment my cleaning guy forgot to take. ************ stated, she let her in. I told her, that meant they had custody of the apartment. I had asked ************ on several occasions how could they charge me, and not allow me access. I told them I believe it would not be right for me to pay a pro-rated rent for an apartment I had no more access to and was in the process of being prepped for the next tenant. This was before December 11th! No response! No response from Bell Partners as well. Today, the response was a notice from a collection agency. ************* and Bell Partners ought to be ashamed of themselves! I will fight them on this!Business response

************** did in fact turn in the keys on 12.1.22. He also signed a notice to vacate agreement that stated his rental obligation through 12.11.22. In good faith, we are removing the past due amount that was sent to collections and we will request the account be removed from the credit file.Customer response
