On Monday, April 8th 2024, I met *************************** (the dog trainer) halfway to drop off my dog (*****) for a 2 week Board and Train at 4 On the Floor Dog Training. I paid her $1200 cash for the board and train. On Friday, April 12, 2024, I received a call from ***** that my dog ate a toy and is being rushed to the Vet ER. On April 13th, 2024, The Dr. does X-Rays and induced vomit twice to see if he can throw up the toy, but no resolution. The Dr. suggested surgery to remove toy. On April 14, ***** had surgery, it was successful. On April 15th, ***** was discharged. ***** told me she forgot her credit card, so I had to pay the deposit and the entire vet bill. ***** only refunded me for the board and Train of $1200.00. When asked if she was going to reimburse me for the vet bill, she stated, "I can't pay that." The Vet Bill is ********. I have filed a small claims lawsuit against her.Business response

Everything ********* said is true. The only reason I informed her that I did not have my credit card was because the Emergency Vet won't treat the animal with out a deposit up front. There was obviously a miscommunication about paying the bill. When I told ********* that I would reimburse her I meant for the Board and Train. Which I did, in full. I did not pay the vet bill because this could have happened anywhere and at any time. ***** had already been treated for swallowing a sock yet his owner sent him with stuffed animal toys.

I am rejecting this response because:
She is not taking responsibility for covering the vet bill. Yes, I have brought toys that he does not chew on. They are comfort toys for him. My older dog s scent is on it, so ***** does not mess with them. ***** neglected to mention, she had other dogs there for training and they had toys. She did not remove ***** from interacting with other dogs while they were playing with their toys and with his toys. I did not receive all of his toys. ***** also does not remember nor keeps track of dogs toys. The accident happened on her watch not with anybody else or anywhere else. The toy that he ate was NOT his Toy!Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. ***** is correct. I filed in small claims court and was ruled in favor of ***** being obligated to pay the Vet bill and courts fees.
Thank you.
