I paid for but did not receive trees and my money has not been returned. I have used Carter landscaping previously without issues. Received a quote on 9/30 to plant 6 crape Myrtles for $870 trees and $870 labor. I gave the owner a check ($870 made out to **** ******* for the trees and was told to expect them by 10/7. They did not arrive. I continued to inquire into the status of the tree order and planting schedule. I was first told to expect them 10/14, and then on the weekend of 10/22, and on 10/26, and then 11/1. Each time they were not planted and each time the owner made no attempt to contact me. All contact was initiated by me with requests for the owner to call me. However, all communication was through text messages. A complete copy of the messages is attached to this complaint. When the owner replied to me, he first stated he had equipment issues and then a faulty phone. On 11/27 I requested my money back and he then stated that he received the wrong trees from his supplier and reordered the correct trees. I still insisted that he return my money. I did give him one more chance to deliver the trees by noon on 12/2 or refund my money. They did not deliver the trees and I have not yet received a refund.Initial Complaint

June 6th - I hired **** *****r of Carter's Landscaping for services (specifically grading, prepping and laying sod down in my backyard). Quote was $3000 ($1500 down for the sod, $1500 after completion of job to pay for his services). I paid $1500 via check on June 8th, made out to **** *****r. Check was cashed. Sod was brought to my house sometime the last week of June (I was out of town) and left there. When I returned and found it, I reached out to **** to ask when he would be by to start the job and lay the sod down. Per ***** there was no communication from the sod company to him that it had been cut/delivered and at that point, sod was dead and not useable but that the sod co took responsibility for the mishap and would cover the replacement cost. I checked 5 times with **** July-October and each time was given an excuse for the delay, almost all of which related to the Sod company not cutting sod or being able to fulfil the order at this time, it would be "next week." Each time I was expecting him, he did not show. As of Oct 12th 2022, job has still not been started nor completed. I gave an ultimatum on Oct 4th, give me a timeline for completion or refund the money and go our separate ways. He agreed to complete the job within the next week and replied that he forwarded my complaints to the sod company regarding the delay. Oct 10th I texted him and asked for full refund. I have not been able to get in touch with him since and he did not reply to my request. On 10/12 I attempting to find out which local sod company he was working with - after calling around I found out the company was Tidewater Turf in ******** NC. The manager there stated he was never informed that the sod wasn't laid and wasn't aware of any issues that occurred back in June. Today was the 1st day I have had any dealings with the sod company. To the sod co.'s knowledge, my job had been completed and they were not reserving any more sod for my yard.
