On November 18 2021 we signed a contract with **** *****, owner of Carolina Roofing to renovate and paint our metal roof As contract states grind scale &sand metal roof, straighten bent seams. fix bad metal and seal holes and to paint with 1 coat primer and 1 coat paint and to secure loose edges Mr ***** and his team completed one side of the roof in 2021, leaving a large hole between a chimney and the slope of the roof. He left saying he would be back in 2 weeks to finish up but did not return until October 2022. In May 2022 during heavy rains we had unprecedented leakage from the hole where his people had left screws loose and not sealed this area I attempted to call Mr ***** numerous times but he did not answer So even though he gave us a seven year warranty he simply did not answer the phone and the mailbox was always full. So I hired a handymen to take care of the problem He found the hole and patched it for $150.00 and an additional $250.00 to repair the ceiling and paint it. IN September, 2022 Mr ***** showed up to resume work on the other half of the house. He denied any responsibility for the leak telling me it must be the chimney leaking even though it is capped off. On October 7, 2022 he demanded payment for the remainder of the work, confirming that they had painted it all including the flattish roof on the one story section at the back of the house , and said he would be back to fix a hole in the gutter in 2 weeks. I have not been able to get ahold of him and once again hired the handyman to repair the gutter for $100.00. I took a note with pictures to his address. Unfortunately I had paid him without climbing onto the roof to check. I have since received a quote from Ace Roofing for $2,500.00 to sand and paint the back section of roof bringing the additional amount I have to pay someone else to $3,000.00
