Date of transaction was 05/31/2024. Amount of money paid to them was ******. The business committed to provide me a full synthetic oil change originally. They came in and informed me that I needed other work to be completed. They completed an oil system cleaner for $15.00, SUV and Truck tire rotation for *****, cabin air filter *****, Three step Fuel system cleaning for $89.99, Fuel system cleaner for brake fluid exchange for $1*****. When I was returning home from the visit on 05/31/2024 my air was not blowing out cold air. My air had no issues prior to bringing it here. I took it back to them to explain that my air was fine before I brought it to them. They told me it was my air compressor that went out and that they could schedule me an appointment to have it fixed. I explained that I would not return to them because I had no prior issues with my air before. I took it to ***** ******** center to have a mechanic check out the issue to see if it was actually an compressor issue. The technician evaluated the car and explained that they completely drained my Freon to zero. The technician was able to refill the Freon and showed me the brake fluid which was dark indicating that they never even changed it. I will attach a picture of the system that was not even changed. They did not help resolve my issue at all, but instead tried to charge me for a new air compressor knowing they tricked me so that I would return. Video footage needs to be pulled from this location to show the wrongful act they performed. The technicians name is **** who is the manager. I will also attach a receipt of the work they completed. They performed unlawful work ethics and this business needs to be contacted and let known that they do not take care of their customers and perform illegal wrongful acts.Business response

On April 18th, my car was towed to Grease Monkey to have an oil leak examined. It was determined the leak was coming from possibly multiple places and I had both the front and back valve cover gaskets replaced. I was called on April 20th to pick up my car and to drive it around and come right back if it was still leaking. My fianc' picked up my car and as soon as we got home, we could tell it was leaking major amounts of oil. On April 21st, we took the car there that morning and dropped it off. I handed over the invoice we were given on the 20th and the guy wrote the mileage on it and said he would call with a determination. I get a call on Saturday, April 22nd All the sudden I have a slight coolant leak, need my water pump replaced, have a rear main seal leak, and need the top and bottom gaskets of my oil pan replaced. The *************** is the one who called me and he said he would call me back with a quote cost of repairs and to take my card number to be put on file. The first repair, they did not take prepayment. We were not told prepayment was a policy, I did not sign any paperwork, my card was then charged for $2,790.00 on April 24th and no work had been completed and I do not believe to be started. My car then proceeded to sit there for 3 whole weeks, I was told the repairs would take 4-5 days and I was continuously calling to see what was going on and why it was taking so long. I was told over four times that a bolt had to be ordered and the dealership was sending the wrong part. I finally get a call on May 12th that my car is ready for pick up. I go into the store, around 5:20 and I walk up to the front desk. ***** is there, introduces himself and gives me my key and tells me to have a good day. I ask him where is my invoice. He then proceeds to "try" to find my invoice in the system and then tells me he is having a computer glitch. At that moment I am feeling very uncomfortable and I verbalize this. $2,790 in repairs and there is not a single paper trail, how did they order parts ? I then took my car to a certified mechanic to look over my car the next day on May 13th, the mechanic finds that my car is still leaking large amounts of oil and that they improperly installed the rear main seal and I still have oil coming out of my bottom oil pan gasket. I have photos, statements, and at this point I do not want them touching my car. There is no way they did not realize it was not in properly with the amount of oil still coming out. I feel something shady is going on and they simply do not know how to do their job.Initial Complaint

On Friday 10.07.22, I took my car to Grease Monkey (*********************************************************************************************** *****) for an oil change prior to a schedule trip to **** on 10.09.22 which I was driving my car to ****. On Monday 10.10.22, a family member noticed a large fluid stain on her driveway where my vehicle was parked. After moving the vehicle to a new location, and placing cardboard under the car, indeed I was leaking fluid. Since, I didnt know what was causing the leak I scheduled an appointment with ***** in ***********, ****. ***** placed the vehicle on the rack, and the manager asked me where did you get your oil changed? The drain plug was cross threaded into the oil pan which caused the leaking/issue. Upon leaving Midas (10.12.22), I contacted the Grease Monkey location where the work took place. I spoke to *******, which he stated this is the second one we ve had recently we believe we know the technician is that is responsible. A few days later (10.14.22), I received a phone call from District Manager Aden with a settlement offer of $289.00??? My out-of-pocket cost to Midas was $578.43. **** stated that I needed to take the vehicle to them for inspection prior to having any work done. So, Im in **** for two weeks and **** wants me to return to ** for an inspection that is obviously impossible with the severity of the oil leak. Additionally, I had no clue as to the root cause of the leak. Plus, I wanted the vehicle inspected by a reputable company that Im familiar with and trust. In conclusion, I have pics of the oil leak, pics of the oil pan and plug, and a statement from the manager at Midas who performed the repair which he is a certified ASE mechanic. Additionally, I have the repair bill from Midas. Im seeking full reimbursement from the repairs from Midas which equals $578.43. Anything less than the $578.43 is not acceptable.Business response

We are giving the customer a full refund out of customer service. We do like to have the opportunity to honor our warranty by bringing the vehicle back to use but with the customer being out of state that was not an option.
