I am the owner of Carolina House of Real Estate. In Jan. 2024, we hired *********************** - M.E.P. Murillos Paint, LLC, to renovate 3804 Singletree Ln. *********, **. Our company flips homes. We had employed M.E.P. Murillos Paint on multiple projects for 8 years. We agreed on a *************** Mid-way, ****************** called me and my partner to the home to assess a problem he was having. ****************** informed us the original scope was not feasible because additional support was required on the 1st floor to carry the load on the 2nd floor properly. He assured us the installation of a pole attached to the kitchen island would secure the 2nd floor. This was not an ideal fix, but we agreed and told him to proceed with the modification. The home was completed & actively on the market for sale when I toured it & noticed several cracks around the 1st-floor doorway corners, the front door alignment was off, several 1st-floor doors were out of alignment, & the 2nd-floor bathroom floor was separated from the baseboards in several areas. A slight slant was also visible on the ceiling on the 1st floor. We immediately pulled the home off the market & called a separate contractor to give us a 2nd opinion. Upon his inspection, contractor #2 determined the 1st floor was improperly framed & was not supporting the load for the 2nd floor. A structural engineer was called & every bit of sheetrock was removed from the 1st-floor ceiling to have the framing inspected properly. Multiple issues were discovered: extensive improper framing, live electrical, and all electrical & plumbing work completed on the home was not done by NC building code standards. ****************** has refused to respond to over 5 emails, three phone calls & countless texts. His only response was "sorry". This man should not be able to practice construction on any level in **. The repair cost to fix his poor workmanship is over $50K. Every consumer in ** needs to be aware of this **************Customer response
