I've been leasing some Apple equipment with them and CIT and it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach customer service. I was just now on the phone for 40 minutes waiting to be connected to someone. This is not the first time this has happened to me. Earlier this year when I was trying to update my bank account information I had to jump through so many hoops and was finally done after a couple of months. You can't manage your account online. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. My lease is up on the equipment next year and I am glad to move on.Review from Trellis S

We have a business account that experienced fraud in February 2024. I have been trying to resolve the matter since early March. I ultimately had to escalate to the Board of Directors and CEO to get them to fully investigate and respond. They sent a letter stating we did not respond in a timely matter but it took them until October to finish their investigation. This is ridiculous. Please don't bank with this entity. I have sent 4 emails, 2 letters, 10 phone calls, and made 3 bank branch visits to resolve this matter but they state that I didn't respond promptly. I will be escalating further. Someone needs to investigate this bank as most of the complaints are related to the lack of due diligence by their fraud department. I would give zero stars if allowed.Review from Cedric H

FIRST CITIZENS SUPPORT RACIST EMPLOYEE - I was requested by the Danville Piedmont Drive branch manager to come inside to sign a document. I was told that they would be on the look out for me at 2 p.m. At 2:10 when I arrived the employee whose desk is at the right of the entryway (Dual *******) denied me entry and directed me to the drive-thru. After going to the drive-thru the manager introduce me to him in the lobby and his first words to me were - I am at my desk trying to do my work - he is not the only big bald headed black man. When I requested his business card he proceeded to tell me; when you call you make sure you tell them. I stopped him before he finished his statement and told him. I did not need his help in my conversation with his supervisor. This incident was reported by myself and the branch manager. It took ************** manger over a week to finally contact me. Mr. ******* is still proudly wearing the *** lapel pin on his jacket. It is evident they support this behavior from their employees.Review from Oliver S

This is not a reliable bank. Their system is janky and AI need to replace customer service.I made a deposit at the eastway dr ****** ATM in ************ Friday 10/18, about 10 pm, of $200 to pay a large bill. I did not get a recipient being that cash deposits supposed to be available right away and I perform cash deposit frequently.Sun, I look at my account online before I was going to make two more deposit, I noticed my $200 cash deposit was not in my account and my account was in the Negative. I called *** customer service Sun, I spoke to a female who became frustrated and didn't know how to help. I told her to transfer me to a manager. The manager stated she saw my deposit on a backend system and told me to *** may be late processing and that she will call me the next day which she did not.I call back Mon. 10/20 about 2 pm and spoke with ********, she became frustrated at me because I was upset she was not giving me the solution to the problem. I told her to transfer me to a manager. I speak to ***** at 3:02 pm. She got mad because I said the dam bank is trash and sent she in her feels to transfer me to a male customer service **** then hung up on me and blocked my phone. When I tried calling back I kept getting the busy sound. I went the branch where I had the issue. The Teller said he can't do anything nor the sub branch manager. I go to the branch where I opened my account and the manager gave the Fraud/ATM dispute ph#. I called them and they said I would have to wait 10 to 30 business day for the $200 credit. While today I checked my account and it is in the Negative, with $144 of overdraft fees attached. This happened on my business account.Review from Stephanie W

My mom died then my dad dad december 22nd 2023. We have successfully closed every account other than *************************************. It took 6 months of contacting them to finally close his account and it was done 7 times. I recently received a card MYSELF after i received notification the account is closed as i was a secondary on the account. Ive made too many attempts to close my account and end all business with first citizens and i keep getting a new card. This is the worst business i have dealt with since my parents death and they are giving me extra grief on top of losing my family. Im filing a suit with small claims court for emotional distress and calling wral 5 on your side to get first citizens to send me a letter that i am not affiliated with them, nor am i a card holder.Review from Judy F

Zero stars. Had 3 very large and obvious fraudulent charges on a credit card that total $24,000. I now have no available credit on the card and they are telling me it takes 90 days to investigate - bc they give the vendor 90 days to respond! I think its also very shady that they wont stop a pending charge! Sounds like money laundering or something to me. Hate this f-ing bank. This company is garbage. I have been with them for over ****************************************************************************************************************************************************** to wait 10 days. I have no food in my refrigerator. I have no gas in my car and these people pretty much told me they could care less. Disgusting group I will be taking my business elsewhere. 15 years is longer than any employee I spoke on the phones career are first citizens. I hate you guys! My mother died...........left me and my siblings an IRA ******** 2 months later, I'm still trying to get them to roll it over to my ******** NO ONE has called me back, and I get cryptic emails asking for tracking numbers that don't exist. They don't even have enough professional courtesy to deal with my money people. NO CALLS, SPARSE EMAILS, NO INSTRUCTIONS on how to make this easier. I would like some closure for my mother. Not Reliable!! File a dispute regarding a product charged to my credit card that was not received. Received the standard scripted response. I had to do several follow up inquiries and, of course I received a different customer service agent response each time. And each time, I received conflicting and confusing response that the previous agent response. It tool weeks of messages and follow up all for a $33.00 refund/ chargeback. In addition one of the response, the agent did not fill in their name. Instead it was signed NAME. REALLY?!?!? The credit card dispute / fraud department obviously needs more training and monitoring! In addition to posting this review, I plan on emailing the business directly with the whole email thread! Guess they are too busy with mergers and acquisitions to take care of longtime customers and small transactions.Review from Anon Y

Horrible. Accountant promised to file a dispute after I was assured account wouldn't be closed for filing a dispute and open a new account protecting my account from theft. Then the accountant suddenly changes things suddenly after the fact. Closing my account without telling they would. Liars! Rude mechanical robotic recited responses. Poor customer service. I would never bank with them. I hope they go out of business. Soon soon. Not a very ************** Waving a flag logo. ****. Discriminatory attitudes. Take Back America! Don't bank there!
