On 8/10/23, I purchased a new ****, furnace, and coil from Blantons Air, Plumbing, and Electric; the installation occurred on 8/11/23. On 8/11/23, the A/C on 3rd floor of my townhouse wasnt working and Blantons was called to fix the issue; it was discovered that the dampers werent installed properly, and they were fixed by the technician Blantons sent out on 8/14/23.On the week of 9/30/23, I discovered that the heat was working after I had turned it on, and I called Blantons. On 9/30/23, their technician ***** came out and reported the reason why the heat wasnt working was due to the gas switch not being turned on when the furnace was installed. I had asked ***** if he wanted to stay to ensure that the heat was working, and he refused since he said it was due to the gas switch not being turned on.On 9/30/23, I had also brought it to Bruces attention that there was a wire that wasnt reconnected that was coming off from the **** unit outside. ***** reported that I would have to call my electrical company since we dont touch their stuff and they dont touch ours, however this rationale doesnt make any sense since Blantons disconnected it to install the unit. I also reported to ***** that the inspector never came out and was told by ***** that he would let his office know and that they would be calling me; as of the day of this complaint, I havent received a call.As of 10/9/23, the heat still doesnt work when its turned on. Im calling Blantons and Im filing this complaint since I no longer trust them to effectively resolve the issues. This is disgusting and inexcusable; please address.Business response

My parents reside in **** and called Blanton Heating and Air to see if they could fix their ac that had stopped working. My parents are in their eighties and their home is almost 50 years old. The technician said there was a problem that he thought he could fix, but also added that they may need a new unit. He puttered about and then said he couldn’t get it to work, and presented them with a bill for over $1000. My mother and father were shocked and as they tried to talk about it, the tech sent a sales person to the house. The sales person sat with my father and tried to sell him an $18,000 single zone unit. My siblings and I, all replaced single units for one floor of our homes in the last two years for $5,000-6,200. Blanton took my parents for a ride and asked them to pay $1000 for a service call and then tried to intimidate them into buying a unit that costs 3x the usual rate. They insisted it would only cost ~$140 per month and that they could finance it. My mom said my father was afraid and embarrassed to speak up, but really wanted the high pressure sale to end, and for the guy to leave. I still don’t know if he actually signed anything. He is not really talking today, but accepted our help to get 2 additional quotes tomorrow. Can you please help me, help my parents to get back some of the $1000 for the service call for a unit that clearly needed to be replaced? I don’t believe there was Freon used or any parts. I am trying to get a copy of the bill. My father is clearly afraid to approach Blanton.Business response

Hello. We have attempted to contact ********* ****** several times with voicemails also being left for her to return our call. We are more than happy to speak with her around her concerns and resolve them however necessary. We will continue to reach out her and will update this complaint further once we speak with Ms. ****** as we will need the names of her parents or the service address to properly pinpoint the invoice that she is referring too.
