The Company was called in to fix the hot water heater(less than 5 yrs old then) which pilot shut off by itself in April 2021. The gas control valve and pilot assembly were replaced and final job done on 4/8/2021. Invoice of $784.76 for labor and parts was paid promptly afterward. But the issue was never completely fixed and the pilot still shut off by itself periodically. Since Company refused to honor warranty service on that, we had to reignite the pilot every time it went off, until early Feb 2022 when we were unable to. The Company came in to replace the gas control valve for the 2nd times within 1 year, but refused to cover it under warranty. The pilot shut off by itself again as of Saturday(3/26/2022). In the process of trying to relight it with igniter, it was found that the wire to igniter was not connected from the Company's last repair on 2/4/2022. Further inspection found that the other end of ignition wire was also disconnected at pilot end. This pilot assembly was supposed to be a new one replaced last April which should still be covered by the Company's warranty. Yet, multiple email/text requests over a week for warranty repairs have not been replied so far.
