  Date 7/21/23 Roof replacement Several shingles damaged, bushes damaged and multiple short cuts on felt paper replacement and starter strip. Multiple phone calls and emails have not been acknowledged or returned. (1) There are areas where the old underlying paper was left and fully removed. This does not seem to be a practice followed by most roofers, as you cannot see if there are any damage/issues with the existing OSB. You state in your quote and invoice that you removed all existing roof down to decking. This was not the case as there was obviously old paper left. (2) You clearly indicated on your quote and invoice that starter strip would be used on all rakes and eaves. There are pictures showing sporadic use of the starter strip and places where shingles are nailed directly to OSB. (3) Staples were used for the paper as opposed to nails. Certainteed recommends the use of nails for better resistance to tears. Yet, you stated that was old school. We've not had any other roofer confirm this is a standard practice, as they all said they use nails only. (4) The small crevice under the arch at the end of the TPO looks to have been filled with nothing but caulk. In all likelihood, this is where water was getting behind our bedroom walls. Caulk becomes brittle over time and cracks. I would have thought this would have been filled by some solid material. (5) I have several pictures of damaged shingles, where it appears things were dragged across the shingles fracturing the shingles and removing much of the granules. (6) There are exposed nails on top of shingles, as well as caulk under some shingles. (7) Several bushes were heavily damaged. Most came back, but at least two will most likely need to be replaced. The concern of damage to our landscaping was made quite clear to you. You had even assured ******* the crew would stack old shingles and carefully discard into the trailer. This did not happen, as you saw the crushed bushes when you arrived on site.

  I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.

  Dylan B****** has not honored his contract, which included a 10 year guarantee on his work. We will seek restitution for repairs he should be doing. 

  We will also consider legal action if he continues to ignore his obligation.
