On November 20, 2023 I took my car in for tire repairs. The tire T.O. Haas just replaced the week before for $530.00 had gone flat with no signs of why. They proceeded to repair the valve stem on the new tire. When I asked what was wrong with the tire no one in the shop could tell me but then proceeded to charge me $30.00 for the repairs and declined me any form of warranty. On my way home from T.O. Haas the same tire they just "fixed" popped and shredded on my way in less then a 20 mile drive. We called the shop and they informed us they suspected something would happen because of "gunk" they saw on the tire. That alone statement alone is frustrating knowing they sent me home driving a car they knew was going to have problems. The tire popping could have cause me to crash or other server problems. Although I am in okay condition its still very scary to thing they allowed that to happen. Their offer was 10% a new tire which for a tire that was brand new a week before and just repaired that day is ridiculous at that price.

This customer originally called the store and gave us the wrong size, but we were able to get them the correct size upon their arrival.  However, the factory chrome rims were in pretty rough shape so we cleaned them up the very best we could before mounting the tires.  As it turns out the valve stem failed resulting in the first tire repair.  The customer did not purchase the optional tire protection package which includes road hazard warranty and free flat repairs which is why we charged for the repair.

The customer has not returned to the store since the second time the tire failed.  We are now in communication with her father.  We have told him repeatedly that we need to see the tire to know if it is something we can warranty through the tire manufacturer but neither he or the original customer has returned to our store with the tire in order for us to attempt to give them some type of concession.

We are more than willing to help, but we do need to see and inspect the tire first.

The date was Friday July 7th. I went to T.O. Haas for service to my car. My steering wheel was making a small clicking noise and shook when reached high speeds so I was seeing if they could diagnose it. They ended up telling me they didn't do that type of service there but could put weights on my tires because that'll help with the shaking so I said sure. Turns out the weights didn't do nothing for the shaking but After they performed that service they told me my car wouldn't start. They took me to the shop where my car was and tries jumping it. When they did that smoke came from the engine. Then told me supposedly it died when they brought it in the shop. If that was the case shouldnt they have told me before they put the weights on my tires and how were they even able to test the car out to check if the weights worked? I informed them it was a perfectly fine car and never had a problem with it starting and Im still making payments on it. They basically told me they didn't know what to tell me and tough luck. I mean I drove the car there a perfectly fine car I should be able to drive it out the same way. I had my car dealership take a look at it and they told me whatever t.o.haas did they locked the engine and that they weren't telling me the full story of what happened. I just want to know what happened and them to pay for the engine they locked up.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/15) */ Mr. ******** brought the vehicle to us because it was making a clicking sound in the steering column. We said anything in the steering column would be beyond our scope of work, but we would check the CV axle to see if that might be causing the noise. We couldn't find anything wrong with the CV axle but we noticed there was uneven wear on the tires and no wheel weights on the wheels so we balanced out all four tires hoping that might help. We then took it for a very short drive around the block to see if it that did any good. We had a difficult time keeping the vehicle running during this test drive and it actually died as we approached the service bay. We had not even opened the hood at this point. We asked Mr. ******** to come to the vehicle with us so we could explain what we experienced. He immediately accused us of somehow harming the engine. Again, we had not opened the hood at this point. By this time we needed to use a booster pack to attempt to jump start the engine. That was the first time we opened the hood. It would not start even using the booster pack. There was smoke coming from the exhaust and it seemed as if the starter might be contributing to the starting issue so we installed a new starter. Again, and as the engine turned over smoke was coming from the exhaust. At this point he told us he was still making payments on the vehicle so we suggested he talk with the dealer who sold him the vehicle. He had it towed to that dealership. We later had a phone conversation with the owner of that dealership (who is also a customer) to explain exactly what happened and in that conversation the dealership owner denied blaming us as Mr. ******** has stated. We did not charge Mr. ******** for anything and we believe there was a pre-existing issue with the engine of which Mr. ******** was aware based on his immediate reaction when we brought him to the vehicle to show him the starting issue.
