Urban Installers did an excellent job of installing our new dishwasher and microwave, which we had purchased through Costco. Jeff was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to make sure others knew what a great job he did, after reading a very negative review here.

Urban Installer didn't know how to install a ******* Dishwasher. Urban Installer stated over the phone that he would replace the old hose with the new hose and install the dishwasher for $150 and $20 for the assembly kit and $20 to haul away the old dishwasher. Urban Installer Tie Rap the old hose to the new hose. This caused the ******* Dishwasher to stick out from the counter by 3 inches. Urban Installer did not replace the old hose. Then it took three days of me calling to get a receipt from Urban Installer.
I need $150 reimbursed do to the fact I had to pay $200 to have it installed correctly.
DO NOT USE URBAN INSTALLER IN THE NE/IA AREA TO INSTALL ******* DISHWASHER.

Urban Installers stands by the work their installers did for Ms. Beverly. We are saddened she chose to submit a BBB complaint in lieu of following the instructions our professionals provided upon the conclusion of her install.

As stated in the original complaint, Urban Installers provides estimates over the phone in order to give customers an idea of service and material costs. We pride ourselves on being honest and transparent, and in most cases those prices remain accurate. However, we are unable to know exactly what the job will entail until we get on-site and are able to evaluate if the home or business is up to code, or if additional work needs done, like plumbing or electrical in order to make it so the new product will work as desired.

In the case of Ms. Beverly's install, when our professionals arrived on-site, the old dishwasher was already uninstalled, and we were able to assess that the old drain line was installed incorrectly in her wall and would require a plumber to properly remove it so the new drain line could be installed. We understand that clients fear getting news like this, but we comply with guidelines for a very good reason, and that is to protect our customers in the long run. In this case, as well as with many other brands, ******* dishwashers come with their drain lines pre-installed on their dishwashers. They should never be removed. If they are removed, the new product's warranty is immediately voided. That means that if the old drain line is used, and water should ever freeze in that drain line and anything become flooded as a result, the customer, not the installers and not *******, would be left liable for paying to fix the damage. We would never knowingly put someone in that situation. Because of this, our professionals explained to Ms. Beverly the situation before they performed any work and gave her two options. The first option was to install the new dishwasher so that she could have a functioning dishwasher over the holidays while she waited for a plumber, knowing that dishwasher would not be flush with the counter, but that we could have an installer come back for no additional cost once the plumber completed the work required; the second option was to have our installers come back after she had a plumber out to uninstall the old drain line so that the install could be done properly all at one time. She chose to have our professionals install the new dishwasher so she would have a functioning dishwasher since she was unsure how soon she was going to be able to address the old drain line issue.

We are not sure how Ms. Beverly chose to handle things after Urban Installers left, but we hope very much that Ms. Beverly took our installers advice by hiring a licensed plumber to uninstall the old drain line, and that she did not pay someone to remove the ******* drain line, voiding her new dishwasher's warranty.

We are sorry that it took three days for us to send your receipt. Please forgive this transgression. We have all been working overtime since Thanksgiving to ensure that as many families as we can fit into our schedules are able to have their appliances ready to go for holiday cooking and baking and memory making.
