I purchased a 2012 GMC Acadia on 8/2/2023. I owned the vehicle for 4 days and on 8/6/2023 the check engine light appeared on the dash. My husband had the code read at Auto Zone reading P0741.P0741 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for "Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off". This can happen for multiple reasons and a mechanic needs to diagnose the specific cause for this code to be triggered in your situation. On Monday 8/7/2023 - My father and I took the vehicle to the dealership and I went to work. My father attempted to reconcile the vehicle issue with United Auto and was asked to remove the car from the lot and it was not their problem. He stated their business was not with my father, i signed a no warranty agreement and they were not going to help. Did not offer to take a look at the vehicle or help repairs in anyway. My father asked that they check the vehicle and see if their was a resolution they could help us with. Again, they refused to look at the vehicle and demanded we remove it from their lot. During our initial inspection of the vehicle, it was told by United Auto that all systems were checked and the vehicle was in good standing. I am looking for an attempt to help with or complete repairs on the vehicle purchased only 4 days prior.

I'm the owner from United Auto Inc. The vehicle was driven for couple hours when it was purchased as whole sale. Vehicle never show signs of any mechanically issues, as usual it was detailed and drove one more time by the mechanic to see if there was any signs of mechanycally issues like we do with any other car that it's purchased by United Auto Inc. When the 2012 GMC Acadia was purchased, they test drove the vehicle once(dad) next day came with his partner to test drive again and stated that he was mechanic that's why she want it him to test drive it oner more time. After test driving it twice, she decided to purchased the vehicle and signed knowing there was not WARRANTY(SOLD AS IS). Check engine light came on after 4 days(like she stated), they called us and were NOT very nice about it. We told them that there was not warranty. Father of the owner of the 2012 GMC ACADIA came to the dealer and was very aggressive and we told them that we did not sell the car to him, and to bring the owner(purchaser) so we can talk and see what we can do to help. BUT he was being so aggressive that we just told them AGAIN that there was NO WARRANTY and it was sold as is and to take the vehicle with them.

On 12/6/22, I drove from ***********, ** to test drive a 2010 Dodge Journey. I had communicated with ******** earlier letting him know I would be driving from *********** and should be there around 5:30pm. I arrived and right away he said someone else had drove it and wanted to buy it but he had told her I was coming from *********** and had to give me a chance first before he could sell it to her. I took the car for a test drive. The heat was blowing warm and there were no lights on to indicate any problems/issues. The radio worked but I didn't try the CD/DVD player/SAT/NAV. I offered $5000 cash and he said he couldn't take anything less because she was going to buy it for the full price. I gave him $5900 cash. He then indicated on the paperwork it had a salvaged title. I didn't think anything of it because it had driven fine and there were no maintenance lights on. While driving back to ***********, I realized that there was cold air blowing from the passenger vents. At 10:00pm the same night, the check engine light came on. The next day, I discovered that the CD/DVD player won't load any discs. I texted him at 8:16pm on December 7 informing him of the check engine light and the cold air blowing and that I'm a single unemployed mother to a 2 year old and need to have heat in my car during the winter so my kid doesn't freeze. He never responded. That same night I went to ******** Auto Parts to have them check the code for the check engine light and was told it's P0736 Gear Ratio Error in Reverse severity 3 of 3 so I know that United Auto should have been aware of the error code but cleared it so the light would turn off before trying to sell it instead of fixing the problem. I texted again on 12/8/22 asking if they are going to do anything to make it right because $5900 is way too much money to spend on an unreliable vehicle that was not serviced properly and that they knowingly and dishonestly sold a car with service issues. I haven't received any responses yet.

On Tuesday February 8, 2022 i have purchased a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country from United Auto Inc. I had paid $6000 for this vehicle. During the time i was looking for a van he stated that the car was in good condition that they drove it back from or near *********** ************. That everything in good order. It has a DVD player in it too. Tires are almost new. they are in good shape. During my test drive it was good. No lights or no clanking sounds in the back or front. It felt like a sturdy vehicle. And i was impressed over the test drive so i though i was getting a good vehicle. So this week my husband was in the hospital at the Mercy One. He was discharged on Thursday February 10, 2022. We live at least 35 miles from **********, ****. So we started our way home and come to the first stop like the check engine comes one. Then we feel the like jerking around at the stop light. and when we would go it would jerk then quit. We got concern cause i did not fell that when i bought it. i stayed at the hospital with my husband during the time i bought it so did not go no place till that Thursday. We took back to him and asked him Why it was doing this. They are Mexicans so i dont know what they are saying but he hollers for someone in the back and a young kid comes out. He goes to the Van and has that little machine that tells you what the codes are. It said 5 codes but he wouldn't show me. I seen the one for the #5 plug is misfiring. The owner brother came over and said he not no machinic but he knows how to use that.. He just cleans our cars out for us.. And the owner kept saying as is. you cant get your money back. You drove it off the lot it is your problem. I was like what. I need to know what is wrong with it. Kept telling me to come back Tomorrow my machinic will be here tomorrow. So next day took it to the Certified Auto who is my machinic. There are several things wrong with it but it might need a new motor. But the owner told me he will make it right.

Thanks for reaching out to us. That is correct, this particular customer purchased a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country on 2/8/22. Vehicle was purchased AS IS NO WARRANTY. Although listening to her concerns when she stopped by we decided to help her out even though the vehicle was purchased AS IS. Vehicle was running perfectly fine at the time of purchase and prior to that. That's why we wanted to do something for the customer. She was told to bring the vehicle the next day to our lot to have it checked but she chose to take it to a different mechanic shop. We told her we couldn't do anything there unless she brought it to us. We never told her we wouldn't fix her vehicle but she decided to go somewhere else. We were trying to do the right thing for her so we really don't understand the complaint. Also the title has been here ready for pickup and she won't come get it either. We don't have control over customers' decisions but we are here to help the best way we can.

I am rejecting this response because: I feel that justice is not done, i know that the owner of the United Auto told me he wanted to make it right with the car that he wanted to put in a spark plug. that would not have done nothing but more check engine lights on.

As of today March 11, 2022, it is still in the shop. this vehicle is a 4.0 which are hard to find parts for as my machanic stated. one of the heads have been taken out and fixed but the one we waiting on needs a new one. and due to covid that shipping has taken a while. today it is not there but it is close. it wont be dont till next week. top it off he still hasnt called me for the title and he has my number. i just read in his report that it is there now.

i had found out to fix the car it is going to be $4000.00. and i paid $6000.00 for this lemon of a car. I had asked him to at least help me pay half cause he stated he wanted to make it right. so help me pay for it. He told me bring it back to them that following monday but i told his brother or coworker that i was taking it to my machanic. And i left it there because my machanic said it was going to do more harm to the van if i drove it around. So i left it there and then went to see the owner. But he stated he was not going to help me cause it is as is.. Most car dealerships make sure they work before putting them on the lot. But he doesnt do that at all. That right there is wron in so many way. I feel he knew that car was going to break down. but yet he was trying to make it right by just putting a spark plug in it but it was more than just that. i feel he too advantage of me as a woman. that i am naive. not i feel buyers remorse for this lemon of a vehicle. it has 144 k on the van. and why did the engine act up so fast. i just wonder if that he messed with actual mileage on that van. but how can you know for sure.

I had even asked him to give me a different vehicle. but the one i drove and there was something wrong with it. and i asked him for my money back. and that is what i want. I want my money back. i dont have the title. and i want my money back for fixing the van. i bought that lemon on Feb 8, 2022. I brought to his attention that thursday feb 10th. that was only two days. isnt there a law about 3 day. and there is something with so many days to bring back.

i leave about 30 miles from the city and we do all our shopping and dinning there. and i drive my husband to clinic every monday wednesday and friday. he is on dialysis at the ******* clinic. and for us to have a van is a must for the room he needs and for our four grandchildren that we care for. so again i feel that something needs to be done here. he is wrong at doing his business. he just needs to be looked into and i want my money back. he can have the van just want that back. this taking for my home, my grandchildren. it not fair. Please help
