On August 12,2022, we purchased a 2011 GMC Yukon from Flying Wheels. There was an expired temporary inspection sticker on the vehicle from them at the time. Upon returning to Maine, we had it inspected on 8/15/2022 and it failed for multiple reasons, including a muffler and tail pipe with a rusted hole and broken bolts in the exhaust manifold along with no TPMS sensor in the tires and a burnt out license plate light. Flying Wheels agreed to fix the muffler and tailpipe at no cost. They proceeded to install the incorrect muffler and tailpipe for this model and it is missing a bracket that is causing rattling. Because it is not the correct parts it will continue to make a rattling noise. There was never any advertisement or disclosure before agreeing to the purchase price that this vehicle would fail inspection. There was no disclosure that there were any defects that would cause a failure of an inspection. Flying Wheels did, in good faith, put a new muffler and tailpipe on, although not the correct parts for this model causing constant rattling. Under NH law a consumer must be given the opportunity to have the vehicle inspected before purchase. No such opportunity was given to us. There is no way an auto shop that offers inspections would not know that this vehicle would not pass inspection with these major, costly items needed to pass. It was also not disclosed what problems were present with the vehicle. We have had the work done in ME so our vehicle can pass inspection one month later and still have the incorrect muffler on the vehicle. The TPMS does not work because the tires installed are for a Cadillac Escalade not a GMC Yukon. We have spoken with an attorney but would like to have this settled here first.
