on 07/12/23 I went to bumpy's auto to have a c.e.l. (check engine light scan) performed. was informed that the purge valve solenoid needed to be replaced .they replaced it, and reset the check engine light.it was explained that the car has to be driven approx. 75-100 miles for the codes to be cleared in the computer.it was also "EXPLAINED TO ME THAT IF THE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING,THAT THE car needed to be taken to a "HONDA" dealer to be further evaluated. the light "DID" come on shortly after leaving the auto repair shop. I had an ADDITIONAL c.e.l. light scan performed at the honda dealer that revealed that the purge valve solenoid was "DEFFECTIVE" I was charged $165.00 for the diagnosis at the honda dealer.i brought back the car to bumpy's, and the mechanic replaced the purge valve "again" I feel strongly that because the "same" part was diagnosed by both parties that I should be made whole by bumpy's. the mechanic at bumpy's "told" me to go to honda, and that he could not do anything else at the time.i have lost $165.00 because I "HAD" pay honda to rediagnose the car again based on bumpy's recommendation.i feel that all bumpy needed to do was rediagnse the car and it would have been clear that the purge valve was defective and replaced the part "AT THAT TIME,BEFORE SENDING ME TO HONDA FOR THE EXACT SAME DIAGONOSIS RESULT!"...I am aggrieved in the amount of $165.00,and bumpy's refuses to acknowledge to reimburse me.i feel iam owed this money because I was practically forced to go to a honda dealership to get this check engine light resolved "at my additional personal expense",because to reiterate, the "mechanic" at bumpy's "TOLD" ME to go there. he did 'NOT' want anything further to do with the car.as a result a "duplicate" diagnosis was performed, with the exact same resultant, a "purge valve" needed to be replaced, which forced me to go back to bumpy's to replace it, because it had already been paid for. I want to be reimbursed for the honda diagnostic fee.
