I paid Robbins Carpentry $5K in Oct 2022 for the installation of 650 sq feet of laminate interlocking flooring. They arrived January 1, 2023 to begin the project. It was completed in a timely manner. I was dissatisfied that the flooring installed in the master bedroom had multiple deep scratches in the center of the room. It had been caused by the bed rails being dragged across the newly laid floor by his partner and son, Scott R******. A discussion regarding a repair would mean removing half the floor in that room to get to the damaged area. However, it was not an option given to me. Instead Harold R******, owner, gave me a can of polyurethane for Me to paint over the gauges to prevent peeling or dirt getting into the gauges. A closet area with a stackable washer and dryer was pushed back to lay flooring in the hallway. The threshold was pushed back causing buckling of the vinyl floor in the closet space also creating a gap where the laminate floor meets the threshold. When warmer weather arrived, the flooring started to buckle. One section split completely. Walking on it you can feel the floor drop and hear a popping noise. The floor has a rippled appearance and does not lay flat. While removing the baseboard a hole was made in the wall from the crowbar. It was mudded. I was left to sand it and repaint the wall surface. I informed Robbins Remodeling of my dissatisfaction I have sent multiple text and made phone calls in an attempt to have Robbins look at the buckled floor. I was told that considering I was dissatisfied with their work, they were not interested in resolving the issues. My attempts to contact them now go unanswered completely.

can not get homeowner to keep appointments for us to look at her issues

I filed this complaint against Harold R****** June 11, 2023. Since then only one appointment was scheduled (for 6/22) which I asked to reschedule due to a death in my family. I responded promptly to his email with other dates of availability. I feel he’s using a tactic to benefit his case by stating I’ve cancelled multiple appointments. See attachments

Since filing I have done further research on the company “Robbins Carpentry “. He is listed in networx.com with 5 reviews. 2 poor reviews indicating unsatisfactory installation of flooring. See attachments. Unfortunately, I did not find this information before hiring him for a flooring installation project.

Harold R****** is consistently unprofessional and rude. I no longer feel comfortable having him in my home. Therefore, I do not wish for his company to repair the inferior installation project. Financial compensation would be appropriate to pay another contractor to “fix” the issues of a poor install.

The Better Business Bureau has an excellent reputation. I feel it is beneficial for the public to see the standings of any business prior to hiring them. I hope this complaint with assist consumers in their choice of hiring a competent, professional business. I would not recommend “Robbin’s Carpentry”.
