In 2019 Brown's installed a heating/** system at my home. Since then, for 3 years now, when we turn the heat on in the fall, we get a banging noise from the furnace. It's very loud and will wake us up at night. First I was told it was because the section above the ** coil was expanding and needed better straps. A tech came and put straps on. Then I was told it was because the "volume" of the gas needed to be turned down. The tech said there was a range of settings and ours was set at the higher level. The banging is called "tin-canning" and usually happens when the ** is on. I have sent detailed letters requesting a resolution of the problem each winter for the past three years. As of this date the banging is still unresolved and I am left with a clunky, noisy heating system that Brown's can't fix. I'm 70 years old and have lived in several houses with different heating/** systems. This is not normal functioning. It was a Carrier system--furnace model #**STA/**STX and ** model #**ABB#. Spent over $400 with Brown's Plumbing and problem was not fixed. I was getting water in my laundry area coming out my standpipe which needed snaking. Plumber said I needed wider pipe because his snake would get stuck. He installed new pipe but never cleaned out pipe beyond new pipe, so problem continued. He also said I needed new exit hose on washer, old one going bad (not really true). When I called, several times, about my problem after "fix" the person I spoke to was rude and nasty would not listen to me - hung up on me. I did not use my washer for several weeks and kept getting water (I live in two-story 4 unit building. I was getting water from other units backing up through my pipe. Finally another plumber came and cleared pipe. No more water. I had hose replaced too, but tech said old one looked fine. I spent a lot of money and had a lot of anxiety over several weeks that problem persisted.

We recommended the additional work and you declined the work. We came back at no charge and there was not a leak or no water present --the hose trap had water in it just as it should when operating properly.Customer Response

They did not recommend additional work. They came back at no charge after about 3 calls from me, with several hang-*** from nasty lady who kept saying I would be charged $119 for visit. When plumber came back gratis, he stayed about 5 minutes. Floor was dry because the water was there the day before and I had mopped it up. He did look into pipe. He just said problem was probably from my washer hose. Nasty lady also said problem was from the hose and I needed new washer - plumber did not say that. The water on my floor was coming from standpipe. No one even tried to understand problem.
