I signed up for a lawn doctor service plan that included seasonal treatments. Everything started fine until we reached the peak of summer. Treatments seemed to torch my yard as well as not getting rid of the weeds. I am left with numerous dead areas on the lawn. When I called to complain back during the summer I was told by a tech it was fungus and we can do a treatment for X dollars. I asked for a manager who then said it probably isn't fungus. It's great to receive conflicting information. I watered my grass daily. Meanwhile all of my neighbors yards have no dead dry areas but my yard who receives treatments has numerous issues. My only solution now is to do a re-seeding which of course cost more money and I agreed to since I have no other choice. My lawn was destroyed by lawn doctor. The last application of weed control did nothing as whatever is on my front lawn is not regular grass. But they assure me there's no weeds. I want my money back for the previous treatment. Lawn doctor appears to be some sort of scam where they destroy your lawn while simultaneously providing the solution. I will file a New Jersey Consumer Affairs complaint as well

      Good afternoon,

I am writing to you in response to a complaint from **** ***********. He had no issues, until we had the intense heat this summer.  We explained at that time the heat is causing the lawn to become dry and heat stressed, no weed issues. We also made sure that he received automated calls explaining that the lawn needed to be watered. This fall he had a power seeding completed,  and we have been out 4 different times to check the lawn. He was made aware that the seed needed to be watered every day, and to give time for it to mature and grow. He is under the guarantee until end of spring 2025 as long as he has the full program. We explained that we will check again in the spring and if any areas need re-seeding, we will take care of it for him at that time.

If you need anything else, please let us know.

      Thank you,

      *****

I am rejecting this response because:

A manager named ****** was rude, disrespectful, and hung up on me during a phone call in to discuss my lawn. No one has since apologized for his actions.  I am still seeking a credit or reimbursement for the treatment prior to the seeding. My lawn looked atrocious even after non-stop watering over the course of the summer. Even today my yard has bald spots which haven't shown any seed growth. I called in several times concerned and requested those specific areas to please be re-seeded. They informed me they cannot until the spring. In the meantime my quarterly water bill will most likely be in excess of $150-$200 due to the amount of  water I was told by ****** to do on my lawn. 1 hour per quadrant, twice a day. The watering has not shown any growth which concerns me.

      Regards,

      **** ***********

I had Lawn Doctor service my lawn for a year and 4 months. Because of the summer weather this year my lawn was brown and some areas had no grass at all I had emailed a cancellation notice to the company to discontinue the service. They serviced my lawn anyway. They said they never got an email. I was able to speak with the person who serviced my lawn last week. He expressed that they not always got the emails. I called and spoke with a representative and asked for credit for the two services that were applied after I had sent the email. She said she never received the email. I said I would send a payment for last weeks service but I wanted credit for the other two. She denied me that so I closed my account.

      Good afternoon,

I am writing to you in response to a complaint from ******* ******. She was a customer with us for 3 years, with no complaints at all. We cancelled her account, as soon as she asked us to. We explained that the lawn is very dry and heat stress throughout the lawn, and needs water.  This summer we went through 3 heat waves and as of now we are going through an extreme, drought. We also made sure that she received 3 separate calls explaining that the lawn needed water. She owes for services that were rendered before she cancelled with our office.

If you need anything else, please let us know.

      Thank you,

Lawn doctor have provided my lawn care for several years. The policy has always been to call ahead. On 6/30/22 lawn doctor treated my lawn for a fungus that they identified. I was told that it would grow out in a few weeks or they would reapply the application at no charge. I was billed $178 for the application that I paid in full. After about 4 weeks later I noticed that the lawn fungus had not improved, so I requested a service call in late July. The technician applied more fertilizer to help the fungus grow out. A month later, around late August the lawn didnt look any better. So I requested another service call. Lawn doctor told me that they would follow up. There was no follow up. During the month of September I called to request a service call 4 times. Each time I spoke with a staff member. I spoke with ***** 2X and a gentleman 2Xs. Each time we discussed the same issue. They said they would get back to me, they never did. I told them I wanted to cancel my service if they cant honor the contract. They assured me they would have someone/manager contact me. I requested that they NOT perform any more services without TALKING to me first!Or I wouldnt pay. They assured me that they documented this request. This morning 10/5/22 without any prior notice Lawn doctor performed my fall application billing me $77.78 I am requesting a call from the manager to justify this course of action. I have requested a call from him to address my complaint for more that a month! The manger has failed to contact me but continue to bill me. According documentation left at my door today by lawn doctor, I NEVER had a fungus. The notice left by todays technician stated that my lawn looks like it has chemical burn or landscape mower!! If thats true then my lawn problem was misdiagnosed by the experts!! I should NOT have to pay for their error!

Our tech spoke with ****************, the lawn did have fungus, the fungus control did fix that issue, the lawn looks very good. There is a small area that is not a fungus on the edge of the lawn and **************** did agree with the tech that it looks like a chemical burn. I did ask our tech to take pictures and it looks like the gas cap may not have been on the lawn mower and some gas has spilled on the lawn. We do not do the mowing. That is out of our control. I did tell our tech since it is such a small area to put some seed down to help recover the area.

May 2022-I called to inquire about a grass problem,I inquired about price and I did not sign up for any services because I was shopping around.***** apparently signed me up for service without my approval and he claims service was done.He is refusing to allow me to speak to management to rectify this and therefore he fraudulently is billing me for services not authorized by me
