I have been a customer for many years. Orders are shipped quickly (often times, same day as ordered), and quality has always exceeded my expectations. I will admit, there are some things that could stand improvement (such as smear-proof labels on bottles of oils ??); but customer service has always been outstanding and you just cant beat the pricing!Review from WENDELL C

Twice I have placed orders that were never shipped. Neither the owner or the employees accept responsibility for losing orders. No apology. No attempt to replace your items. Just a blame the post office for items you lost or NEVER shipped. No attempts to make the order right for the customer. I have to wait 3 weeks to get my order replaced or get my money back? Your company will run small businesses out of business. Horrible business acumen.Africa Imports Response

I'm sorry to hear you were unhappy with your order and service. After looking into the detailed notes on your account, I show that the most recent order issue is from the order placed on Friday 12/29/2023. Your order was filled and and shipped the same day. However due to the New Year Holiday, there was no movement during the weekend and on Monday 1/1/2024, which was a Federal Holiday and all carriers were closed. This was something we did explain to you. Then when the box didn't show movement after that, we started a missing mail search with the postal service, which is standard practice when something like this happens. By 1/8/24 you still had not received the order, so we refunded your full payment. While I do understand we asked you to wait while we had the postal service looking into this, it was not a 3 week process as you stated.I also see on your order from 4/15/2023, ***** admittedly lost your order, which we replaced for you on 4/20/2023. So again, we took care of replacing the order for you in just a matter of days. With both of these issues, we did listen, offer our understanding to your situation and reached out to the carriers involved, who at the time were responsible for the location/situation with your box. And when we were informed that both boxes were lost, we took care of you with a refund or replacement soon after. It is our goal to offer great customer service while also following protocol when there is an issue with a carrier. I do show that you have placed a few orders this year so I'm hoping all went well with those deliveries. Thank you,Review from dan A

Recently ordered a few colognes and soaps. I'm very happy with the products and the packaging. All items arrived in good condition, and all were high quality. Turmeric Soap did not smell very pleasant, sorta like a clean public restroom, though it was a free gift so i cannot complain. The Dudu soap, which i ordered only because of the review listed here saying it smelled like actual ****, actually smelled really good. Not too strong of a scent, but pleasant. Have been ordering Dudu Black Soap from this company for a while now in bulk for my familys personal usage. New order I received this May, we are just getting a chance to utilize ** we order a head before running out. IT SMELLS LIKE DUDU/FECES Literally and I have informed the company. You would think they would want a sample to check for themselves but instead I received a message stating The ingredients have been tweaked and they cannot receive the product back since it has been over 30 days. ?? Im sending this product straight to the lab to be tested. Something aint right with this company nor their ethics. And I have children with sensitive skin thus the reason we switched to black soap years ago. DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE! RunAfrica Imports Response

The order for this complaint was placed in August of 2022. Because the return asked for was 10 months after the purchase, it was too late to return it. The customer had ordered this soap once before in August 2021..The manufacturer had changed the fragrance of the soap very slightly during this time. It remains a popular soap with very few if any other complaints about the fragrance.Review from Stephanie K

I have been ordering from Africa Imports for over 12 years and have not had any problems. I mostly order by telephone so any questions I have I get prompt answers to. I ordered a Djembe drum and it was in perfect condition when I received it. I have no complaints and their staff has always been professional.Review from Lorraine J

I ordered a 1 gallon container of **************** last week and it arrived damaged on 04.05.2022. My conceirge pointed out the condition of the box to the delivery driver and he said call the company. So, I documented the condition of the box exterior with a photo. A photo after the box was open and placed the container on the counter and took a photo to show the hefty product loss. Today I spoke with the customer service rep and sent the images. She offered me a $16 credit for the product loss on a $149 container that arrived with a bit less than a quarter of the product missing. After getting over the shock, I asked if the rep felt she was being fair? Well, that got no response, so I asked if I could simply return the product for a refund and reorder with the expectation of a non-damaged product. I was told I could, but when I asked for a shipping label, I was told I would need to incur the cost. At that moment, I decided to accept the product but share my experience, as I would loose $40 on shipping, as neither the original or return shipping cost would be refunded. If you order from this company, buyer beware. I have suffered the loss of product due either to shipping or packing, but I am being forced to eat the cost.Africa Imports Response

The photos sent by the customer seemed to show a much smaller amount of product being lost. We refunded for the amount that appeared to be short from the photo.
