I went to go get my hair braided by ***** for the first time last week. When I arrived to her home, I was escorted to her basement. I got there at 9:06am, ***** didn't begin parting my hair until 9:40am. She spent the better half of those 30 minutes, getting situated and eating pancakes. Cool, a girls gotta eat right? A 6 hour hairstyle took 9 hours because she took multiple breaks to eat, ran upstairs for this, that, and the third, AND she braided slowly on top of that! Now here comes the kicker..the style completed was nothing as described. On her page, all the women look clean, happy, and braided. Meanwhile, I looked like a stray poodle whose been missing for 6 months. The curls she installed into my head were nothing as advertised. I brought it up to her attention and she made up a LIE stating, "i did asked if you were okay with them and I believe you said you were." That conversation NEVER happened. She proposed setting up another day to come back and i obviously agreed! Immediately, after i sent her a text trying to set up a new appt..she ghosted me. She didn't respond to the 3 texts i sent her afterwards. (2) on the day she did my hair (Wednesday), and (1) on that Friday when one of the curls fell out of my head :) No response. I filed a dispute with my bank and the NEXT morning, i get an apologetic text message with her next available ************ I don't understand these hairstylists in 2022. It's unethical to play with client's time, energy, and money. I have and will not be responding to her messages nor will i ever feel comfortable with her hands in my hair again.*****, do better.
