I contracted ******************** and Sons Masonry to perform masonry repairs on my home. Mr. ******************** prepared a written contract which we both signed. I gave him a $2250 deposit on September 5, 2023. The work was supposed to commence on September 6, 2023. Over the next month Mr. ******************** gave me multiple excuses why he could not start the job as agreed. At this point, I requested my deposit back to which he agreed. After multiple phone calls emails and text messages. He finally sent me back via Venmo $1000 stating that was the limit that they would allow him to send at a given time. He promised he would rectify that situation and send me the remaining $1250 owed. I still have not received the balance of $1250 owed and now he does not respond when I try to contact him. This is been an extremely frustrating situation. I have a copy of the signed contract, as well as the email and text correspondence and will be happy to provide at your request. It is also my understanding he goes under another business name which is Davenport Masonry out of ******** **********. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. This complaint is false the customer was refunded the amount that was owed to him after he suddenly changed his mind and broke the contract due to rain delays materials were purchased and the job was put off due to rain I communicated with the customer consistently he was paid partially through Venmo and cash on the balance this is a false complaint I will reach out to the customer again to try and rectify this situation as for the complaint accusations they are falseCustomer response

I am rejecting this response because:The contractor never refunded the full deposit only $1000 of $2250 stating his Venmo would only allow him to send $1000 and he would contact ***** and refund the balance of $1250 which was weeks ago. He never responded to any requests for the balance which he agreed to refund. I have all supporting emails, text messages etc. to back up my complaint and would be happy to provide the BBB upon request.

We signed a contract on 5/15/22 for a mason to extend our front porch. The contract asked for half the money up front $3150 and stating the work would be done by 5/30/22. They never showed up and kept saying they would. On 6/1/22 I finally asked for my deposit back. He said he would have to ask for a refund on material and that it would take 3 to 5 business days to get back. I waited a week and asked me my deposit back and he keeps making excuses on why he can’t meet. He offered only have my money back.
