Have been a customer since 2019. I insure a vehicle which is used for pleasure only, driving less than 1000 miles a year. My main vehicle is owned and insured by my employer. I have not had a accident or claim in the time I have been a customer, however my rate has been increased every renewal period with a nearly 90 dollar increase in the last renewal. When inquiring about the reason for the increase I was told it was due to inflation. The best part over the years *** had to consistently lower my coverages until I reached the state minimums in order to keep my coverage affordable. I was now able to purchase a plan for my vehicle which has significantly higher coverages and now I am paying as close as make no difference half the cost, FOR BETTER COVERAGE!!!!! **************** has declined over the years as well. Stay away from this greedy company.Plymouth Rock Assurance Response

Hi ***********, we're sorry to hear that you were frustrated with your renewal premium. An increase in policy premium is affected by many factors, including the rising cost of vehicle repairs, health care prices, and other inflationary pressures. Rest assured that keeping our rates competitive and affordable is very important to us at Plymouth Rock. We offer a number of policy discounts that we encourage you to explore, to ensure youre receiving the best rate possible. Please let us know if we can assist further.Review from Frank D

I have been a loyal customer of ********************** for several years, maintaining my policy in good standing with zero claims and always paying on time. Historically, the company conducted home assessments themselves, but they recently shifted this responsibility to customers as a self-service task. I was not aware of the importance of this new requirement and unfortunately missed completing a self-home assessment.Despite my years of loyalty and spotless claim record, Plymouth Rock chose to drop my coverage due to this oversight. This decision seems to prioritize cost-cutting over customer service and flexibility. Its disheartening to see how a long-term relationship can be dismissed so quickly over a procedural change that was not properly emphasized to loyal customers. If you're considering ********************** Rock for your insurance needs, be aware that they might prioritize their bottom line over customer loyalty and flexibility. I am extremely disappointed and now in the process of finding a provider who values their clients and provides clearer communication.Review from Lauren S

If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. I bought my first home mid May 2024 and signed with Plymouth Rock for my home insurance. I purchased a log cabin (my dream home) and was ecstatic about it. The agent was friendly and excited for me and at no point led me to believe a log home to be problematic, but come July 1, I received a letter in the mail claiming Im being dropped because they do not cover log homes. After speaking with others more knowledgeable in the realm of home insurance, ** led to believe the agent only signed me to earn the commission. After following up with the company, they said the agent should never have signed me, as they havent covered log homes in years. The agent didnt seem concerned by the lack of transparency and integrity of the other agent. I would have rather been denied up front, than left with less than a month to find new coverage before my official policy expiration date.Review from Ryan B

Inspection was completed on our home and told we are good to go. 2 months later, received notice in the mail that our insurance would be dropped due to an issue in 2 months. Never received a single notification or communication to let us know there was an issue. Horrible. Oh, and this is only 3 months after they tried to drop our insurance based on a 5+ year old image from ****** maps stating our roof was in bad shape even it'd be replaced years ago, no research on their part. Absolute WORST company I've ever had to deal with.Review from Georges L

This company is the worst !Stay away from them They dropped my Home owner insurance saying my roof with in poor condition but my Apartment's roof is in perfect condition. My roof is 9 years old ! They secretly had a 3rd party coming to check instead of letting me know. I could have provided a ladder and any additional info but NOT ! They do that behind our back. After complaining to them, 3 weeks later they told me they received my complaint but my photos were in black and white ! Really ????? STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY I had both Home and auto insurance with them forever ! So much for customer's loyalty !!!Georges L *********** ***************Review from Ci C

Had this insurance for a few years. Never filed a claim. However, when I tried to ask about whether or not they would cover an issue of a leaking pipe they opened a claim so they could tell me no. Even tho no payment was paid out it still was a strike against us.Soon afterwards we received a letter stating there were hazards reported and they needed to come out and do an internal inspection of our home. (And outside) We have a well maintained house inside and out! So they send a guy out, he takes pictures...they get back to us. The letter states our hazards. 1.A ladder leaning against our shed (which my husband just put there a day ago after unloading his truck from work) 2. A 1" gap at the front door stoop against the house. That's it! Next letter...fix it before the end of the month (which BTW was only 3 weeks) or we may cancel your policy. Are you for real?Next letter...we will be raising your policy payment 48%.Do you think they were trying to get rid of us? Yup!Unethical, threatening and upsetting! Steer clear of this communistic insurance company!!! Which BTW...is now a ***************Review from Christine Q

Absolutely the worst customer service I have EVER dealt with. They double billed me - for a total of $505.00 for ONE MONTH of car insurance. I have tried calling 10 times to speak to a supervisor and NO ONE will call me back. They keep giving me the run around - and they are making me provide my bank statement to prove that my funds were taken out of my account....when clearly my account for the company shows that the funds were taken out.Plymouth Rock Assurance Response

I had a very bad experience when I needed it most.My car went to a body shop to be fixed on about 01/21/2024, everything was ok until the body shop informed me that the parts my car needed would be delivered very late causing a big delay on the first possible delivery date. They told me the best thing I could do would be to call Plymouth Rock and ask for an extension on the rental car, which at the time I was using for about 23 days. So I did. Call them and after jumping from one extension to another for 20 minutes someone said to me that the car rental extension was granted and I should be all set. About 15 days later I received a call from ************** Rental Car apologizing to me because they just got a call from Plymouth Rock saying that because they (Plymouth Rock) made a mistake in the dates my rental car period had ended a week before that date. I was already owing around U$450 in fees that Plymouth Rock would not pay. But this is only the beginning.I try to call the Claim supervisor (*************************) twice. One time I left a message on her work number asking her to call me back. Having no response, I tried to reach her by email telling the story and trying a reimbursement of that value owned at Enterprise Rental Car. I just got an answer from her by email saying: "-Plymouth Rock has paid your policy maximum of U$900 to Enterprise directly."And that was the last time I heard from her, even trying to reach her again by email. I was forced to leave my wife at home having a 2-month-old baby with no car for her to use in an emergency with the baby because I needed my other car to go to work. Thanks Plymouth Rock.Review from Robin W

This is the absolute WORST insurance company Ive ever worked with in my life. Their insured hit my car while stopped at a light and they took months to accept liability. Finally, after dozens of attempts to reach the claims adjuster *****************************, she tells me they wont pay out unless I get an estimate from them. So, I do everything they ask, completed a long questionnaire, took photos on an app, scheduled the estimate, etc. but, when I asked her to provide the estimate to me and the shop, I get no answer. I call dozens of times. I email dozens of times. I get no answer! No matter what I do, I cannot get an answer. It has been so frustrating! Im done. Now, I have to go through my own insurance company and lay out the deductible. God knows when Ill get that back. What kind of company gives that kind of service? THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!Plymouth Rock Assurance Response

We were sorry to hear about this situation and any inconvenience we may have caused the customer. Since receiving the complaint, we have been able to connect with the customer via email and confirmed she will be proceeding directly with a claim through her own carrier.Review from Denise B.

Auto Insurance with Plymouth Rock was, in my opinion, considered affordable, during the time that I first purchased my plan. They quoted me $352 for two vehicles, per month. However they require a customer to enroll in automatic payment, to get received the affordable quotes. Then, two weeks ago they decided to take it upon themselves and increase my monthly payment by $200. There was no discussion with me to find out if I could even afford this increase. The only notification I received was an email telling me that an amount of over $800 would be automatically withdrawn from my account. This was not what was agreed upon, nor did I have the money in my account for this payment. Therefore, I called them up to explain my hardship. They would not do anything for me. Needless to say the very large amount of money was taken for my account, even when I didn't have it. I am now in the negative due to this payment. I am a single woman working part-time because I am also a student. I in no way can *********** Insurance at over $500 a month. I feel that Plymouth Rock wrongfully forces very vulnerable people to enroll in automatic payment, so that they can do things like this. I would not recommend them to anyone and I am now looking for more affordable insurance.
