Please accept this email as documentation of the horrific experience my husband and I have had with Amity Harbor Marine and Chapparal Boats. We traded in our boat and ordered a brand-new boat in the fall of 2021. We were told our boat would be here in January. When our boat arrived in ******** in March, missing a motor - we were informed that the price of the boat went up and we were required to pay additional funds if we wanted it. $23,000 was requested and the original contract was ****** out by the sales person. We agreed to pay $6,500 of the $23,000 which included winter storage for 2022-2023. We were supposed to sea trial the boat and take delivery on April 29th at 1pm. We confirmed three times with the salesperson that the boat was to be detailed and ready for delivery. We received a phone call at 12:10 on Friday April 29th from the sales person letting us know that they needed a few hours. We arrived at Amity Harbor to find that the dashboard was ripped apart and the boat had not been detailed at all or prepped for the 1pm delivery. The day was a disaster, and we did not take delivery. Following that day, we were assured by the owners of Amity Harbor Rob and *** and manager at Chaparral ***** that our boat would be fixed, detailed and ready for us to come back again to sea trial on Thursday May 12th at 1:30pm. Upon arrival we found that the fiberglass is chipped in numerous spots, the seats are beyond cleaning, the white stitching is stained with grease, and the entire dashboard is scratched and damaged the right-side switch panel is not secured properly, which means nothing has been put back together correctly. There was even a dirty fender thrown on the bed in the cabin that had been sitting in the water for a month. The cabin was not cleaned at all. We did not take delivery as instructed by our attorney. We were forced to close on the boat on April 1st. Chaparral has not been helpful and Amity Harbor is not accepting responsibility at all.
