We took my daughters $400 prom dress from ******* ****** to be altered and hemmed because it was too long. They cut the dress and that was it. Numerous patches of sequins fell off and the dress is ruined. We asked to be reimbursed and/or compensated and were told no. If we wanted to cut and ruin the dress we could’ve done that ourselves. My daughter went to prom with her dress falling apart leaving piles of sequins everywhere and the business told us we bought the dress like that. Which we didn’t, I have the piece that they cut off, with a hem. I want to be compensated for the cost of the dress and the $65 they charged me to alter and hem it.Business response

The business called BBB and explained that they did alterations, and the dress was tried on at the store. At this time there were no issues. The dress was worn at the prom and the consumer returned to the store a month later. Since the dress was used at the prom and the alterations were approved at the time of pickup, there is nothing the business can do to assist at this time. If there were issues brought up at the time of pickup, the business would have been happy to fix whatever was needed.
