      - The class had a very high student-to-teacher ratio, about twenty children and two teachers. The teachers failed to manage the children effectively, not providing extra support to the younger ones who couldn't follow instructions as well as the older children. The class is for ages 3-4.- The class eventually broke into groups with one group going with one teacher to the bars and the rest of the group, the younger group, going with the co-teacher. This teacher was not paying attention to the children, she was biting her nails, and looking at the ceiling while my child was able to run away into areas with no supervision. She was able to climb structures that she couldve fallen off of. I intervened several times and redirected my daughter to ensure her safety. At one point, I called out directly to the teacher to point out that my daughter was wandering into another class, where the girls were doing jumps and someone could easily get hurt. Her lack of response was unhelpful and she was obviously irritated by our concerns.- Shortly after, a third staff member was called onto the floor, presumably to help. Immediately after stepping into the gym area, she fake-lunged towards my daughter aggressively and threateningly, as if she was going to fight her. She led the group of 4-5 kids to the other side of the gym and stood there, not engaging them at all. My child wandered off again towards an area where she was at risk of being hurt. Fed up, my husband intervened. When we tried to address the issue with the teacher, she cut us off and began to aggressively argue. She blamed our daughter for not listening, ignoring the fact that she is only three years old and that such behavior is expected at this age. She completely overlooked the lack of engagement from herself and the other teachers. **** did not offer any assistance throughout. These individuals should not be working with children if they do not understand children.

We spoke to this customer last week before she filed her complaint with the BBB. As she herself states in her complaint, her child did not follow instructions and kept wandering off. She does not mention that her child also wet her pants on the gymnastics floor. As we tried to explain last week, as gently as possible, some three-year-olds are mature enough for this gymnastics class but, unfortunately, her child, who was only a few days past her third birthday, was not yet ready. We already refunded the customers fees last week and told her that she is welcome to return next semester and try again when her child is older.

The customers statement that the student-to-teacher ratio was 20 to 2 is inaccurate. The ratio in our gymnastics classes is always 8 to 1 or lower. At the time in question, there were two classes being held one preschool class with 12 students (including her child) and 2 instructors, a 6-1 ratio; and one older class with 15 students and 3 instructors, a 5-1 ratio.  Those classes in turn broke into smaller groups from time to time to engage in various training activities. For example,as she notes, her daughters class at one point broke into two groups one group of 5 children (including hers) and 1 instructor and one group of 7 children and 1 instructor.

The customers description of a supposed class of 20 students and 2 instructors apparently reflects a misunderstanding on her part and refers to a brief period before classes began, when there were indeed approximately 20 students gathered together waiting, some of them warming up and socializing, with 2 or 3 instructors monitoring them. Classes began a little late that day because a couple of instructors and several students got caught in a traffic jam on the ************ on their way to Aviator.
