Koz Contracting owner Scott was at my home 7/21/23 to quote garage work as follows -remove old insulation install new insulation on entire walls and new drywall with finish for paint and was told end of September 2023 my job was scheduled. I paid a deposit 7/21/23 ck#**** $2650.00 which was 50% of the quote and handed the payment to Scott at the end of our meeting. He cashed the check. The following portion of the quote for a new man door that I purchased at **** ***** 7/21/23 was installed on 8/14/23. I contacted Scott by text 10/12/23 & 10/30/23 for install update then 11/15/23 mailed a copy of the invoice to advise date of service. I have had no response as of 4/11/24. I have other contractors doing different work for me and didn't want conflicts so I waited until 2024 to complete those projects. **** ***** had Koz Contracting as a vetted contractor that is why I contacted the company in good faith. I am requesting the deposit refund for the balance paid less the labor for the installed man door.Business response

Received a call from the business and this was relayed
I apologize for the issue, however, I could not finish the job due to the weather last year. With the weather starting to get better, I can finish the job by the 1st or 2nd week in May or I can refund the consumer minus the work for the door. Which ever she prefers will be fine with me.

I would like to have the amount of the door installation to make an informed decision as to the offer of a refund amount. I do not want to blindly accept that this situation is resolved when the contractor did not reply to the original requests I made after the installation date of end September passed for several months and now says weather was the reason when he could have contacted me with that information so I had the opportunity to hire another company with the funds he has had.Once I receive the amount of the door deduction the decision can be made and this matter resolved.
The installation should have been appx.$450.00. $2650-450=$2200.00

Business called and stated that he will be sending the consumer a check for $2200.00 within the next week.
