On August 29, 2024 I spoke to a male employee at the Chemung Canal Trust Horseheads branch who was extremely rude. He yelled and hung up the phone on me. All this was because I asked for a voided check or a direct deposit form to provide to my new employer. He refused to help at all and said I had to come into the branch even though I had told him that I was currently traveling in the Netherlands. I asked him to identify himself and he refused to do so. Right after this employee hung up the phone on me, I emailed Katerina M******, the Chemung Canal Trust Relationship Banker and complained about the above. I asked that she provide me with a voided check or a direct deposit form. She hasn’t responded to my email. Chemung Canal Trust currently holds 10’s of thousands of dollars of my money while refusing to provide a professional and courteous customer service. I need the above items provided or I need my money out and my accounts closed. Terrible customer service experience!Business response

On September 18, 2024, the Branch Manager of the Bank’s Horseheads office spoke to Mr. ****** regarding the complaint filed. The Branch Manager apologized for the service received and explained that the employee Mr. ****** attempted to reach via email is on a leave of absence and does not have access to email. The Branch Manager offered to assist Mr. ****** with his initial request but Mr. ****** stated that he chose a different financial institution. The Branch Manager has addressed the breakdown in service with the employee who first assisted Mr. ******.Customer response
