I'd like to file a complaint against UPS store #**** in ********************************. I was shipping an oxygen concentrator to someone in **********. As it was an expensive item, $500, I paid the store $255.12 to pack and ship the item as I feared that if anything happened and I packed it, I might not be covered by insurance and since there were signs all over their website saying they guarantee their packing & shipping I felt comforted with my decision. This was on 10/14/21 and I charged it to my credit card. When it arrived at the recipient, the concentrator was cracked and damaged to the point of being unusable. I spoke with the manager, *******************. He said hed file a claim. He kept stringing me along for months, several times telling me that I was only entitled to the insurance amount, which I know is not true. He claimed he hadnt gotten a response yet on the claim, but when I got someone on the phone, they told me they were waiting for paperwork from him. When questioned he said he had sent it, only to find that he didnt send it till the next day. He was extremely rude and combative every time I went in there to inquire about the claim. When I told him Id contact the credit card company to dispute the charge, he threatened that if I did that I would never see any money from him. As I could only get a refund for my *** charge, but not the $500 from insurance. there was nothing I could do but wait. Needless to say I opted not too as Id be out $500. I could go on & on about the store and ******************* specifically. I wanted to alert the store owner, but the only address I could find for him was the store. I finally received a partial refund ($665.65) on 2/27/22, FOUR months later! Im still out about $90. Ive been shipping with *** for decades. Ive never had such a horrible experience and judging by reviews of that store, Im not alone. I'm requesting a refund of the remaining $90 owed to me.
