      I was really concerned when I read the reviews after I placed my order, but I've got to say, the briefcase arrived and looks and feels as expected. No it isn't as dark as the photos online, but that could come with regular treatment. I agree, there is a bit of a smell, there are no tags inside to indicate the materials used or where it was made so I can't speak to that part. The few times I conversed with them via email, when I tried to cancel after submitting my order, were quick and professional. That said - I don't like that it's store credit only, I did find the multiple addresses associated with the company that appear to be residential a bit concerning (but who knows these days), the trek it took to get here was a bit odd, and the content of the description as well as in other areas of the site are contradictory. For example, in the item I purchased it first states that it is 100% cowhide, but later indicates that it is water buffalo. All of these things added to my concern. Also, at that price point, don't make your customers pay shipping and duty separately, or additional costs to return it please. (Just a customer experience value added thought.)In the end I decided to keep the bag since it seems to be of decent quality, looks as expected, and not wanting to forfeit the money I've already spent, or to spend even more to return it. Summary: Decent initial service; Quality seems ok; Looks as expected; Lousy cancellation policy; Inconsistent details on website; Multiple and type of addresses give the impression of it being a questionable company; *** route added to the concern about the legitimacy of the company and product. (I get that the company doesn't have a say in this matter, but I get why others were concerned too.)

      Like others on this site, I'd give them less than one star if I could. Ordered a bag and *** showed that it shipped but was never actually delivered. Over the course of 6 weeks, I contacted James Leather 7 different times and not once have they responded. I still don't have the bag, they've charged my card and I am pretty much ready to give up on ever getting somebody to get back to me. COMPLETE RIP OFF - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY EVER.

      I'm sorry I had to assign even one star to this company. I ordered what appeared to be a stylish leather duffel bag. First, it was shipped folded over several times in shrink wrap. Second, it is not lined and poorly constructed and I would never have packed clothing into it due to the toxic smell. That smell did not dissipate even after having it sit out for a week and was so offensive I repackaged it and placed it in the garage. Third, having email as the only option to initiate returns, has been futile asI have received no replies after three emails and a virtual chat. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS!!

      We ordered a duffle bag that looked great on their website. Once we got it, it was folded over 4 times, wrinkled, looked used, poor stitching, poor quality and the packaging was terrible. We contacted the company and they had the nerve to say we don't do refunds. On their website it clearly states they do refunds. The communication was so bad! You can't speak to anyone, it's all done via email. Long story short, we finally got a refund but it took 2 months. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!!

      As of now Im waiting on an order. Its been about 6 days and no update but I did message the company about 2 weeks ago and no response. Once more before that. Im not even sure Ill like the jacket but at this moment the lack of customer service is enough for me to not want anything more from this company. Thats if I even get what I ordered. If nothing by the weekend Ill be putting in a dispute at the bank.

      Unfortunately I cant give less than 1 star. I have never seen or smelled leather like this. Definitely plastic made in a factory. Smelled so toxic had to keep the jacket in our garage until I returned it. No luck getting my money back. They offer a credit which no one would want. The products they advertise are nothing like what they send you. They tell you it ******* leather. I did not know Buffalo skin was plastic. Just garbage do not buy anything from these scammers.

      James Leather shows on sale fine leather jackets on line, only to deliver inferior leather, non- durable goods to unsuspecting customers.When the buyer requests a refund, the company refuses and offers credit in return., keeping the customer's money.This is a scam company, with poor quality review 2 stars average, with many complaints to the Better Business Bureau.

      James Leather definitely deserves this 5***** Review for its absolutely Five Star performance in handling an error by now eight months old. When I took on the project of finding out what had happened with regard to a James Leather refund due my daughter from a past Christmas gift return, I truly expected waiting for it to show up on her card. HOWEVER, with our claim only four days old, I just got notice from my daughter that she has seen the credit, and she has marked her file CLOSED! Thank you so much, **************** staff at JL - GOOD JOB!!! - and especially *****, for all of everyones good work. If the product of James Leather is anything like its customer service, that product also gets a 5***** Review from me! ***************************************

      VERY DISAPPOINTED. I PURCHASED A BACKPACK/BRIEF****. IT WAS DELIVERED PROMPTLY. I CONTACTED JAMES LEATHER AND TOLD THEM I DID NOT LIKE THE ****** SIZE OR FRANKLY THE QUALITY OF THE **** WITHIN THE 14 DAY PERIOD TO RETURN. THEY TRIED TO TALK ME INTO ANOTHER PRODUCT AND I SAID I WANTED A REFUND WHICH THEY AGREED TO DO. I SHIPPED IT BACK AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED RECEIVING IT. THEN THEY SENT ME EMAIL AFTER EMAIL WITH EXCUSES WHY I HADN'T RECEIVED THE REFUND. I FINALLY GOT TIRED OF HEARING EXCUSES AND CONTACTED MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND OPENED A DISPUTE. THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY GOT MY REFUND IN FULL WITHIN A COUPLE WEEKS. PITIFUL BUSINESS PRACTICES.
