Since we moved into ******************************************************* in November 2018 we have been using Innovative Air HVAC service to work on our heating and cooling. It has been nothing short of a disaster. We've replaced both A/C condenser units, had spray foam installed, and so much more. Each summer we are spending thousands and thousands of dollars with this company and there are always more problems. Most recently, on May 20th we had them come out for the annual A/C servicing and "tune up." This was done and all was declared in good working order. One week later, the first floor unit stopped working. A tech came and diagnosed a blown circuit board and motor. How this happened in one week is beyond me. When Innovative Air came back to us, they quoted us nearly $4,000 to fix the unit (invoice below). When I asked *********************** at Innovative Air for an itemized estimate, he refused, saying:"Our pricing is a flat rate to complete the job. The repair, including the labor and the materials, is already built for us. We utilize a national flat rate pricebook, that automatically populates the labor and material costs utilizing HVAC averages across the country allowing for a fair market price based on the latest trends in material costs and availability, labor, and time needed to complete the job in a timely matter, offer a warranty, cover overheads, and make a profit."When we again pressed him for an itemization, we heard nothing back, despite having an annual contract with the company. This has been the routine with Innovative Air for years now - they come and a week later there's a bigger, more expensive issue. It seems as though they either strategically sabotage the systems, or are wildly incompetent. Either way, it seems to me their license should be suspect.
