As a patient for about three months, I use Talkiatry service (doctors) to manage and prescribe my meds. Everyone seems very angry. Any normal anomalies, like sending Rx to an incorrect pharmacy, medical care questions in between appointments, or Doctors canceling appointments via Talkiatry phone service staff, are perceived as nothing but irritating problems. First and second responses are always pre-determined, and one size fits all templated answers that aren't relevant to the initial question. getting beyond that is always difficult, and encounters hostility from annoyance. Employees, including doctors, are most likely being mistreated or not valued. I intend to find an alternate solution as soon as I am able.Talkiatry Response

Company was not transparent at all regarding cost or billing and charged $658 for a single, barely 45 minute session in which my provider lost internet connection. Nothing was accomplished and further sessions were recommended. Given the associated cost, I am grateful that I cancelled prior to learning about their exorbitant and egregious fees for essentially no services rendered. Their website says a session is typically $30 out-of-pocket and my insurance covered the visit at a rate of $298, which was higher than the quoted $124 out-of-pocket cost for the provider that I met with.....but still nowhere near the $658 session fee. There is also no Explanation of Benefits provided, so I have no idea how this was billed or what they are claiming to have provided as a service. The Billing department condescendingly explained how "complex" insurance can be and apologized for my being confused. I have no confusion whatsoever, I am disputing the ridiculously high fee for no services rendered and the lack of informing patients or requiring any sort of approval to proceed with sessions knowing that you'll be charged a rate higher than any other professional out there. My disputes have been met with "We are unable to waive or provide discounts for any charges for services as there are legal consequences of adjusting patient's cost shares which include copays, co-insurance or in network deductibles. There are insurance regulations that cannot be violated which are considered federal anti-kickback statutes." Total lack of transparency and a scam of services.Review from Matthew A

************. Unprofessional at best. Dangerous at their worst. Multiple times via email and phone, was assured the services that I would be provided. Prior to meeting a psychiatrist online, I filled out an extensive questionnaire. During the meeting, the doctor simply read thru the questionnaire. Towards the end of the meeting, I was told, "I cant treat you. You should find someone in person. But ... How do you feel?" I was then charged over $400 and am now being threatened by the collections department. *************. ********* company. I am not paying that amount of money based on what was promised and how I was treated. I was treated horribly.Talkiatry Response

This company is shady and a scam. I went through their initial assessment to see if I would be a good fit. The results of the assessment determined I would be. I had my initial appointment, and spent about 45 minutes with the doctor doing my initial intake assessment. I was then told that I was not a good fit for them, and to basically go find someone else. I then was overcharged for a services I did not received. They initially told me my copayment was $15, but I just received a bill for $60. They also billed my insurance for the psychiatrist visit and for therapy. My appointment was with the psychiatrist only and not for therapy. I did receive any sort of therapy during my appointment. My appointment strictly consisted of being asked intake assessment questions, being told I am not eligible to receive services, a hotline number and being told he would email me a list of providers in my area (which I could have done myself). I was mislead, and overcharged. This company does not care about the clients. They only care about how much money they can use you for. I would not recommend anyone using them, and I will be disputing their claims with my insurance company.Talkiatry Response

This has really helped me out. The psychiatrist I was matched with has helped me so much. I started therapy and was matched with a therapist I really felt comfortable talking with about anything. They accept my insurance and prescribe me the meds I need. I have really enjoyed my experience so far.Talkiatry Response

I clicked on the "free consultation" link, had an appointment with a great therapist. Then, I received the fraudulent bill. $474 for 1 visit??!! They are a deceitful company, baiting people into thinking this is an affordable care option but they are not. The total charge to my insurance was almost $800, $331 for psychotherapy??? Plus $460 for the psychiatric service? So if I talk to my therapist then it gets charged more. Never again I am using these people, nor I'll be seeking help. This is a scam, all I wanted was to seek **** help, not go bankrupt from this and now, after ****** destroyed all around, have to go through this stupid billing.Review from Dia D

They canceled my daughters appointment at 7pm on a Friday and the first time I called they hung up on me. The second time I got ahold of someone and they are saying they canceled the appointment because they aren't in network with our insurance. My insurance pays 100% at the time of the appointment and works like a health care credit card and they are an approved provider. I explained this but they still refuse to see her. Talkiatry is a waste of time and effort.Review from Amanda S

Talkiatry is NOT an easy platform to use, and it has been nothing but pain trying to find a new provider. My first appointment came up and I was 3 minutes late to the appointment. I came straight from work and I would have been on time, but I had to fill out the questionnaire (which is fine). My provider cancelled my appointment, marking me as a "no show," after 3 minutes. I don't understand this since our appointment would have lasted up to an hour anyways, so where did the time go? I rescheduled an appointment, then, with a new provider. It was supposed to be for 12pm CST (my time) and it ended up being 11am CST. So I emailed to reschedule, and they got me in for **************, I got an email that my appointment is at 3:30PM. And now I can't make that appointment because that's not what it was supposed to be scheduled for. I have spent more time talking to customer service to right wrongs than I have talking to someone, and now I'm wondering how many charges I'm going to get for "missed" appointments. Don't use Talkiatry unless you want to throw money away. I'd rather deal with my **** on my own at this rate.
