For my sisters birthday, I ordered 6 print t-shirts from a business called Photo Studio 308. They were rated highly on ****** so I thought theyd be good to use. The seller said there were two different shirt options, one being polyester the other being cotton. We asked what the difference was and all he said was the price. We went with the cheaper option so I paid $120 for all 6 shirts. He requested the payment be made through Venmo so I used that knowing Venmo provides purchase protection. In one of the photos attached, you will see what the shirt was supposed to look like based on the online design - the words are black and the image is clear. When I picked up the shirts, I noticed that the ink looked like it had run out as the colors were not dark at all. In fact, nothing on the shirt showed ** in black. You can see this in the photo of the person wearing the shirt. We wore the shirts for my sisters birthday so I put mine in the washer. It went in cold water with like colors. When I took it out to air dry it, the colors had completely faded or turned green. A photo of this is also included. I contacted the seller because the quality of the shirts was not what I paid for. He refused to refund me and called me cheap because I went with the cheaper shirt option even though he failed to mention any difference in quality besides material. I tried contacting Venmo and they also refused to refund the purchase. I am writing to the BBB to get a refund for this purchase because the quality of items was not what I paid for. Additionally, the way I was treated by the owner was completely disrespectful and that alone should require him to refund me. Ive included some screenshots of this as well as what I heard back from Venmo.Business response

You pick up in-person the t-shirts and you said that they looked good and thanked me for a good job, also, you are complaining that you didn't like the t-shirts from the beginning that the color black wasn't even black, attached is the image where you clearly can see the design didn't have a 100% black color, the image it was a vintage design. (Order_********) order received and placed by you through our website the image that you are providing was from a sample you try from another website.
If the date of the pick up you inform us that you were unsatisfied with the work we were refunded 100% of the money that day and keep the t-shirts with us, but you didn't mention any discomfort and took the items with you, and after 2 weeks later create a dispute on Venmo, which was resolve in our favor. Also, we recommend your boyfriend before the order to print in polyester for much better quality in the print and wash resistance, and he stated that you were on the budget assuming the risk.
We have so many clients that go with the low budget printing because the t-shirts are for one-time wear like birthdays, weddings, specials days, etc. so, is not like regular wear, that is why we accepted that order.
Also, at any moment treated you without respect or called you cheap.
We can't be held responsible for how the client washes or treat their clothes.Customer response

The business did call me cheap. They never once mentioned the price being based on how the clothes would wash - only discussed the two fabric options. Additionally, Venmo would not refund it because it was a custom order which is not protected by their policies. Otherwise, they wouldve refunded it due to the lack of quality. This owner keeps talking about my inability to wash the clothes properly - I followed what the washing directions were on the shirt tag. I didnt even dry it like the shirt tag said I should. I air dried it rather than using a dryer. He continues to act like he is not at fault when the quality of his product was way less than what I expected. How was I supposed to know when I picked it up that the phot would completely fade into green after one wash?
