On February 8th, ****, I engaged in a remote sale with an internet sales representative at Toyota Manhattan, and regrettably, the experience left much to be desired. Despite my interest in purchasing an all-black 2021 Highlander with specific features, including glazed caramel seats and low mileage, the vehicle presented unforeseen issues upon a pre-purchase inspection, such as the need for brake replacement, engine cleaning due to rodent infestation, and exterior scratches not disclosed in the advertisement. On February 12th, ****, I expressed concerns that my mobile mechanic had shared with me and attempted to negotiate a fair price adjustment. However, I encountered resistance from both the sales rep and the general manager, *****. Despite my intention to finalize the purchase, the dismissive attitude and lack of customer-centric approach demonstrated by the dealership's staff were disheartening. While providing feedback about my experience, *****, the *** literally suggested that I take my business elsewhere after I mentioned the sales rep's lacking customer service skills. Despite this, I chose to proceed with the next steps, driven by my wife's desire for the vehicle.Later that ****************** called me to inform me that the vehicle had been sold, despite my submission of paperwork on February 9th, **** for them to withdraw a $1000 deposit for the vehicle. This experience revealed to me just how corrupt Toyota of Manhattan really is. Therefore, I'm choosing not to disclose the sales rep's name because she is only as good as her leadership. Despite my attempts to hold them accountable following the pre-purchase inspection and provide feedback on their customer service, they showed no appreciation. Furthermore, they seemed resistant to negotiation and were seemingly put off by the fact that I intended to pay in cash for the purchase. Their actions left me deeply disillusioned with their professionalism and integrity.Review from Emad W

At Toyota of Manhattan I was told to put a downpayment of ****** the total of the car is ******. I would receive the document for the title on car before June 28 in order to upload into TLC system, I finally received ownership of the vehicle as of July 10th, 2018. They told me if I don't receive the car they will make the first payment of $1000.00. When it was time to pay, he said they did not say they would do that. Be careful what you do with them, get everything in writing I lost at least ***** in income because of the delay.Review from F. E

Do not buy Toyota. Do not service your vehicle at Toyota.Due to the low carriage on my Prius Prime (a feature which has caused other problems I wont go into here) a rock dislodged during a flash flooding incident damaged the underside of the vehicle. I dropped it off at 9:00 to have someone look at it to see if it was safe to drive home (2+ hours outside the city) and was told someone would call me around noon. At 2 we called and were told someone would get back to us. The same at 4:20 and 5:30. Weve had to rearrange our lives due to lack of information and stay an extra night in ***. If they couldnt get to the vehicle today, they should not have told me to drop it off. They are liars. I should also say cheats since the last brake repair they did was done incorrectly and necessitated a replacement within a few months. Toyota corporate now requires a level of capital investment by dealers that cannot be met in rural areas, so what would have been my local Toyota closed and Im now stuck with a service department that has done me more harm than good.Review from john k

Similar story to some of the unhappy potential Toyota Manhattan customers below. Went to the Dealership in December to tell them I'd need a car a few months later. Went back in early February to pick a car from the list of vehicles being shipped. Put down a Deposit on a RAV 4 Hybrid. Received a call on a Monday in early March that the car was probably coming in that week. On Wednesday was called and told the car was "in" and asked if I could come over right away to complete the purchase. To be clear "in" meant the car was at their facility in ********** and not actually in Manhattan. Was told that if I didn't come over to buy the car right away they could Sell it to someone else "and there is someone here in the Dealership now that wants to buy it." I couldn't leave work on Wednesday but told them I would be happy to come in on Thursday to pick it up. By 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday they had - unapologetically - sold it out from under me. I assume they just found someone who was willing to pay more than the already above Sticker price they had quoted me. Called the Sales Manager and the Dealer's General Manager. No response. At no time was I ever told before that day that if I couldn't drop everything to pick up the car the second it came in I was at risk of losing the vehicle. Awful customer service. Awful Dealership. Bought the vehicle we wanted three days later from Riverhead Toyota. That was a GREAT experience. Gave them a Deposit on Thursday and they happily waited two days for me to arrive. Nobody should be buying cars at Toyota of Manhattan.Review from Andy S

We put a deposit on an in-transit vehicle. After 3 months, the vehicle was finally scheduled to arrive. The sales manager sent me an email on July 21 with the good news and asked if we could start the process of payment. That process was started right away. On July 26, we received a text and a call from the sales manager stating that he needed the check for the vehicle that day or else the vehicle would be sold to someone else. That was the message from his boss. We informed him that the check was ordered and that it takes a few days for our accounting department to complete the process. Today (July 29), I received an email from the sales manager in which he "regrets" to inform us that the vehicle is no longer available. Even after providing us with a receipt which included our business name and vehicle' s VIN number, Toyota of Manhattan decided not to honor their agreement. This is unfair and disloyal business practices that no customer should be put through. Even in times of short supply and extremely high demands. It demonstrates zero interest in customer satisfaction and a commitment only to meeting their monthly sales quota and getting the highest above MSRP payout.Review from carole s

I am a ****** member and was told Manhattan Toyota was the dealer for the *******************. On May 24,2022 we put a deposit on a Rav 4.and we were given the option of leasing with specific terms. I was told that as long as I put a deposit down, Toyota would honor the terms even if the car arrives a few weeks later. We put a deposit and it was accepted. We had a vin number. The car did arrive, but today the price for a lease was 3x the original. I was told that Toyota' s policy is month to month. Even though you put a deposit and agree on terms, Toyota has the right to set new terms. I was also told that a Rav 4 is no longer part of Toyota's program with ******. This was never mentioned, even after waiting two months The buyer should beware of Manhattan Toyota.Review from Ahmed S
