We are a relatively new 7-unit condo. Around July 2023 our sponsor hired Water Works Piping to fix water/fire meter issues that caused our *** account to get flagged. For a year, our sponsor-designated management company (we are no longer with them), withheld this information from the board. By the time we found out we had an outstanding $30K balance due to the *** that dated back to before the first unit owner even moved in. As such, the sponsor hired Water Works Piping to fix the problem, but they never finished the job. After doing our own investigating with the *** we found out a fire meter was never returned and the permit had since expired. As a result, we lost our *** inspection appointment and cannot get another one until a plumber completes the job. I called Water Works on 4/19/24, left a message, and emailed to follow up. No one responded. Another board member called the following week and was told they received my messages and would follow up. Since then, the board has relentlessly followed up requesting information they said they would provide. **** (plumber) claimed he wasnt paid to finish the job, but since the sponsor arranged/paid for this work, the board has no proof this is true. So we asked for original invoices outlining what work he was hired to do, with pricing, and for copies of the original permits so we could elicit quotes from other plumbers as well. We were told by the *** the only way we could get copies of the original permits was through the original plumber, who has emailed copies of them. **** only responded saying he could do the $3800 job for $2500. Everything else weve asked for weve been told someone will follow up and no one has. Not providing this information demonstrates a complete lack of transparency. In the meantime, our building is continuing to get overcharged for water every month. We want copies of the original permits taken out with the city so we can find a trustworthy plumber to complete the job.

In response to the complaint that was put in against our company we don't know who this person is and never did work for them directly nor do we have a contract with them. They called our office requesting documents we no longer have and were not obligated to speak with them or release documents to people we never conducted business with. This is a false accusation against us on what there claiming. Weve also gave them a quote to perform the works there requesting and got upset and them made this false claim.

Please contact us directly to discus how to reslove this matter.

When you spoke to ****, he informed you that there was a fee to help with your situation and from that point we haven't heard back. Then we receive a complaint from BBB. We don't have all the records you're requesting. If you would like us to perform the work that is needed, you have our proposal.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

You provided a quote over the phone to our board president and based that off of not being paid by our sponsor without being able to verify that any of it was true. We asked you to provide copies of those invoices so we could see the original job you were hired to complete, and for copies of the permits you pulled for the original job. The *** said you had copies of those permits (via email) and that we would need copies of those permits to possibly expedite any work if we wanted to seek another plumber to complete the job. However, we emailed you guys requesting those two items and you never responded. Thus, we could not trust that anything you were telling us was true. We were doing our due diligence as board members to verify we were not going to hand over $3,000 to a company claiming they werent paid who couldnt prove what they were originally hired to do. The complaint is directed at the fact that the *** told us the only people we would be able to get copies of permits from was your company. Multiple representatives told us you receive emailed copies of these permits so we were not willing to re-hire you for work when you couldnt even share that information with us. Failing to do so also delayed our entire search to find a master plumber because no one had any verifiable information of what exactly was done already and what was left to be done. The plumbing companies also asked us for copies of the original permits and we couldnt provide them because you didnt share them with us.

Also, seeing that you claimed in your original response we were liars and youve never worked with us goes to show this is how you operate your business. I resorted to filing with BBB because our board knew there was no other way to elicit any kind of response. You seem to acknowledge now that we had communicated with **** and your team but still claim to not have copies of permits which is just bizarre. What kind of business doesnt keep records, especially if as you say, the job was never completed because you didnt get paid? Why would we hire a company like that to complete this job? All we want, and still want, is copies of those permits so we can get our *** account issue fixed so we can stop getting incorrectly billed for thousands of extra dollars per month for water.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

      Sincerely,

      *********************
