I will be filing a formal complaint. Our last phone conversation on Friday, April 7, ************************************************************** if I wanted my credit pulled. I hesitated and did not consent to my credit being pulled. You then stated that you would call me back on Monday, April 10, 2023 to see if I wanted my credit to be pulled. We did not speak on Monday, April 10, 2023. Please note that I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I would appreciate the removal of my number from your database.Sincerely,******* Please investigate this practice of pulling credit reports when formal consent has not been given. I was looking forward to a call from ******* before the pulling of my credit report. I didn't receive a phone call but a text message with the information that my credit report had been pulled.

      Hello,

we have the recorded phone call where the customer gives us permission to run their credit.

      Customer response

      04/13/2023

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because

I have not received the alleged recording of my consent to run the credit. I recall specifically hearing from the loan ******** ******************************** that he would call me back on Monday, 4/10/23 to discuss if I wanted my credit ran because I did not consent to this during our conversation on Friday, 4/7/23.

I have also attached an email from ********, received after the phone call, where ******** states, "I'm ******************************** and I'll be in touch by phone soon to listen to your hopes and dreams and together  develop a loan or refinance plan that makes sense." There's no indication even in this email that I approved of the loan officer pulling my credit without being able to discuss it in a follow-up call.

Due to the nature of my working diligently to repair my credit and increase my credit score, I have become a more informed consumer and selective about credit that I apply for and the hard inquiries on my credit report. I hesitated to give ******** my consent and opted for a call back on Monday, 4/10/23 in order to have time to discuss with my spouse and to determine if this was the route we really wanted to explore.

When ******************** didn't follow through with a call back on Monday, I thought all was well. I was taken aback when I received a text message on Tuesday, 4/11/23 @2:08 pm, as indicated in the screenshot attached, with the notification of my credit being pulled and not the promised phone call on Monday, 4/0/23. I also received notifications from my Credit Apps(Experian and ************ stating that a hard inquiry had been pulled.

Upon further investigations of the creditor who pulled my credit report, I found out that it was Nationwide Mortgage Bankers. I was advised by a customer service rep to send an email to the Chief Administrator Officer of this company(email attached), *********************, because the customer service rep thought it was odd that they could not find my name in their database; they stated that when a credit report has been pulled there are usually some identifiers associated with it.

With all of this disregard of my communication with ******************** and operation out of good faith to even check back in with a phone call on the day stated, Monday, 4/10/23, I am requesting a reconsideration of removing the hard inquiry from my credit report.

      Thank you,

      ******************************* *****

I have attached the recording again so you can hear the consent she gave to have her credit ran.  If you cannot hear it please call me at ************.  We never pull credit without authorization.
