Hired Ernest LaDuke dba: Ex3 Property Maintenance to clear our driveway for winter 2022-2023, for a flat per season rate of $450.00. He was made aware that our handicapped ramps and driveway MUST be cleared completely as my husband uses a walker, and i cannot shovel as i have a heart problem. Needless to say, he did terrible thru the 2 storms we had. When i texted him, he said he would do better next time. Then came next time of course not done well again, his truck was broke, he didn't do what he was asked. Our neighbors driveways were all plowed down to the pavement but ours each time, the older, disabled couple (who he definitely took advantage of).! He did come back with a couple guys and snowblowed and shoveled. As I was cleaning off the car and Ernest was yacking at me, started to get very rude. I got nervous and a little scared of him with his attitude, so i went in the house. After he left, I took pictures of the way he left our property. Needless to say, i called someone else. Texted to Ernest that we found someone else, would pay him for the 2 storms ($40) each, so please refund us $370. He told me that's not how it works, i get nothing back, then blocked me.Initial Complaint

On October 2, 2022 I met with Ernest Laduke Jr of Ex3 to exchange a deposit of 250.00 for snow removal services at my property located at ** ******** ***** ******** ****. I had used him the previous season with no issue. He was great. I have a receipt for my deposit. The first storm, he contacted me and said his truck broke down. Life happens so my husband and I took care of it. Last week, before the big storm, I texted Ernie asking if his truck was fixed and he said yes. His wife posted on ******** it was just a battery. Again Ernie doesn't show up for days. I reached out to him and he said he would be there shortly. Again 24 hours goes by no Ernie, no text. Finally I get a text from him that the tire blew out on his snowblower. I told him we had it covered. My husband and I paid him for a service he did not provide so we asked for our full deposit back and he has not responded. We had to contract with someone else because Ernie is no longer reliable and refuses to communicate with us. I can provide a copy of my receipt as well as all of the text messages if necessaryBusiness response

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed Before I submitted a complaint to the better business bureau, i contacted Mr. LaDuke and requested a refund. He did not respond that is why I filed a complaint. The resolution to my request is a full refund of my deposit. Not for me to contact him. Regards, ***** ******
