SCAMardella funeral home, took advantage of my ill, grieving mother when they conducted my brother's service. My mother is now deceased as well, 1 week after my brother. They made the family wait 2 weeks while the owner went on vacation, to be able to pick up my brother's cremains, the insurance company paid out immediately, ***** SCAMardella told me herself, that the check sat on her desk, while she was on vacation, because no one else was authorized to deposit the check! meanwhile we the grieving family were left in the dark, waiting for his cremains! Then she padded their bill, falsely telling me as the oldest direct next of kin to both, that the separate charge for visitation supervision wasn't included in the use of facilities for visitation, that the charge for funeral services was due to the fact that NYS laws stipulate that a funeral director has to supervise the cremation, as there was no funeral service and that gratuities were mandatory, I have since looked up the laws regarding funeral homes services and have found all 3 to be false!! when I questioned these false claims and charges, the person on the phone became belligerent and said, well your mother signed the contract. Then she said I can't talk to you, only next of kin, which I most certainly am! At the time that my mother signed, she was grieving the death of her 1st born son, the day before and suffering from stage 4 bladder cancer and a sepsis infection. She was NOT in her right frame of mind and SCAMardella took full advantage of that! I want all extra monies refunded forthwith.Customer response
