  5/22/23 had **** come over for trimming, edging and remulching. mulch was placed but told hi, ahead of time I wanted the weed fabric placed which was never done and 4 days later weeds popped up and continue to do so, some trimming of the bushes were not done as there are still weeds and leaves underneath them, edging was done on one part and not the other, called after a few days to say we have weeds and no fabric was placed which he replied " the birds will eat the seeds from the weeds that grow so you dont need it" My friend and neighbor across the street had the same person do her sons landscaping a week prior and when telling her about this, she went to her sons and noticed the fabric was not placed under the mulch either and she called and screamed at him ad he went back and placed it, she was not charged sales tax where I was also. attached you will find text message documented from my daughter, ******** and **** responses to her. (2) receipts first one with sales tax the second with 15% discount and a nasty note stating he will take me to collections. He is a scam artist and I believe he takes advantage of older woman, I am almost 80 years old. When asked for an itemized bill he stated he doesn't do that, I have no idea how much mulch was and 1200.00 for a job that wasn;t done properly is not ok, he never even came back to look at it so he could see what me and my daughters were talking about. I now have to pull the weeds, place plastic down and re-mulch. He is very unprofessional and lies to his customers and would like this amount to pay adjusted to very minimal amount and do not want him to show up at my house ever again

  Hello bbb, the day I stop bye for the appointment which was on 5 /16/2023 I met ******** mother ********** ***** and only her at the time. We decide what needed too be done with the front landscaping which was neglected for many years and gave her a price of 1200 for thr job and she agreed upon the price! So about the weed fabric which we discussed we wouldn't use cause it's useless in my concern and she said OK that's fine and now a week and half later they call and complain about a weed that's coming thru. The home owner needs too maintain after i am done and  in my opinion they don't do anything outside regardless of the landscaping any theyre looking anyway too complain for a free ride and also they had other contractors over there doing work which they never finished and most likely didn't want too pay them either soo who is the scammer !? I did least 200 landscaping jobs and barely rarely use weed fabric cause I font believe in it cause everyone will have words eventually its the labor that needs too be done too control the weeds which they our probably too lazy too due. Also I plowed there driveway in the winter which none of thr kids would do for there mother which is pretty sad in my opinion. I offered them 15 percent off the bill for my services and still nothing from them which makes sense now. What I did too the front of the house looks 110% better then it did and I should be paid for my work and the materials I used! Yes I will be sending the bill too collections very soon. If the daughter thinks I am trying too scam her she should've been there on the appointment which she wasn't and most likely the one that called the bbb. Thanks,  Gary

  I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  In response to the businesses statement: **** stated right off the bat that the landscaping has been neglected for many years which is false. Each year we maintain the lawn and the weeds by spraying, again the first meet from **** was on 5/16/23 as he stated he has never been to my house prior to this date, and if our yard was such a mess wouldn’t we be fined by the town at some point? **** did give the “quote” of 1200.00 at the meet but we expected everything to be done that we asked for, including the 400.00 he was charging for the concrete barrier to be fixed, but the day he showed up he stated his worker quit but the price still remained the same, and we were charged tax on our bill.Our neighbor used **** for his services for her son and requested the weed fabric as well and after talking with her myself she went to her sons to check and low and behold no weed fabric placed there either and she called and screamed at him and he went back and fixed it, my daughter asked him to come back and he gave every excuse in the book why not too.  He plays the victim for his business, stating he had to come snowblow my driveway because his kids won’t help, and again he has no idea who lives in my home. We have a snow blower and the ONE time he had to plow the end of my driveway was a day we had a blizzard and there was a state of emergency and our snowblower was being fixed, my children and grandchildren maintain it otherwise.  **** contradicts himself by stating he never uses weed fabric but in another statement states he rarely uses it so which one is it. The explanation he had as to why I didn’t need it is because birds will come down and eat seeds, really? We’ve never had birds in our yard come and eat anything where the mulch and plastic were laid down years ago.  **** states my daughter should have been there at the appointment, well the daughter that lives with me works a full time job and my other daughter has her own home with her fiancé and also works a full time job, again none of his business, the accusations made on why the tree service guy didn’t show up was misconstrued on his part as the tree service guy had already been to my home to cut the front trees down and he was coming to service the back, also none of his business, and I don’t need to justify any of this to GARY.  We stated in the complaint that we would like this issue resolved by paying him for a service that was 1/2 done as you can clearly see in the pictures sent of 500.00 or less, not trying to scam him by not paying but when asked for an itemized bill he did not provide it, again accusatory thinking we don’t want to pay him at all. At this point, we would like receipts provided for all the materials and mulch he purchased.  We pulled his ****** account up for his business where people can write reviews and as you will see he has done this to several others and he degrades his customers and puts them down, and calls them scam artist but knows he’s not doing the job to peoples standards and he’s taking advantage of elderly people.  **** has not tried to contact me in anyway when being notified of the complaint as to date only threatening bills that he will send to collections, which we are prepared to take him to small claims for. We have also contacted the attorney generals office to file the complaint as well.  We know we need to maintain our lawn after his “job” was completed but never expected to do it not even a few days later after the job was half completed. Attached you will find pictures of the weeds we needed to pull 4 days after the job was so called completed, this is unacceptable in our eyes.  We plan to lay plastic and remulch ourselves as we have in the past but doing so will cost about 300.00.  These photos are a week after the service that we had to pull.  ********** *****

  Hello I received  another letter addressing the concerns.  Regarding the bill it will still 1200 still which is now several months late and I could charge late fees if I want too buy I gave the them a discount buy now it will be 1200 still if they ever decide too pay for my time and services!! Let me repeat this again I don't use weed fabric only on request which they never did and for the weeds I stated that the birds drop seeds in the beds not eat them lol how numb can you be thinking they eat them lol. Also ther was never any weed fabric in the beds stating that there was but if there was there shouldn't of been any weeds before I got there which there was. The landscaping beds where a mess ! If weed fabric works why was there weeds all over the place when I should up too the job for the first time !! That's why don't use it . Also not too pay myself anything is pretty dirty in my opinion pretty dirty if u ask me! I totally revamped the beds when I was there and trimmed and mulched everything! The 400 dollars of the bill was for the parging of the foundation wall which my company couldn't do cause my guy left and there was a huge hole on the corner of the house on the foundation due too neglecte!! I will not redo my bill just for her telling them what I did it show landscaping and that's what I did. It's easier on my taxes for myself!! I am willing too except half payment for my services for what did too the front landscaping services and cut my losess just shows there's many scammers out there! And for the neighbors they're off my plowing list if they want get involved.if you look and pick weeds as they come up from the landscaping beds what do you think gonna happen they will grow back even if you weed fabric but supposedly they did but they had weeds all over before I showed up! I except some type of payment for my services! I have over 45 repeat customers every year for my company they just don't use social media and the comments our about snowplowing not landscaping or mowing. I gross over 100,000 a year and 8 years in business so please don't tell me I'm doing my job wrong !!  they're looking for a free ride bottom line!!! Pay me least half and I'll cut my losses if not I don't do the judging our lord does! Thanks

  I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  In response to the Business owner response on 7/5/23, I am not in agreement with paying 600.00, when first filling out the complaint, I stated the most I would pay for his half service of my lawn was 500.00, this would be half of the second bill we received in the mail. My one last question to the owner seeing as though no receipts or itemized bill was received  is how could the quote and the bill of 1200.00 included the concrete replacement and I believe he stated it was 400.00 for that to be done but the day **** came he stated the guy quit so how can the bill still be 1200.00 shouldn’t it have been 800.00? Half of 800.00 is 400.00 so again I will not pay for a job done by **** that me and my children have to fix. I will give **** 400.00 if agreed upon by him and will send out check immediately, there are to many inconsistencies in his statements, and all of our proof was sent, but nothing provided from him except his statement which clearly shows he puts blame on his customers instead of himself.   Regards, ********** *****

  I will agree too 400 dollars but what a scam. Theses attached photos our from April of this year thru ****** maps before I did the landscaping! First what I did too the beds I should be paid for what I asked! I will take the 400 and I am not sending a bill again. I am not paying more postage for these people ever again soo they can just send the check they have all my info where too send it if they do thanks! I wonder how long this will take its all ready been couple months and gotten nothing from them!
