I was told my work van needed a new fuel pump. It was contacted by Ken he told me it would be $467. I gave permission to do the repair as long as that was the total price. Two days later I was contacted by phone by another person not Ken. Told my man was ready for pickup. When I went to pick up the van Ken was not there I was told by the person behind the counter that I owed $670. I argued but did not want my van to be held for ransom. I need my work van so I paid the overpriced. I would like to see a check in my post office box for the overcharge.Business response

Mr. ******* is correct in most of his story. When our shop sells a job, part of our shop management program asks if we received an approval from the customer. In this case we did for $631.29 on 9/29/2022 at 1:13PM. Since Ken was off the day
Mr. ******* came to pick up his vehicle, I handled the transaction. When he said Ken told him $467, I referred to the approval quote. He was unhappy so in trying to defuse the situation, I asked if he was ex military. He said yes and I gave him a
$61 dollar discount. So he ended up paying $560. Also at no time was is vehicle going to be held for "ransom".
