We hired ***************** to reconstruct a 5' x 7' bathroom. We had previously rebuilt bathrooms before, but needed a plumber for this particular job. The structural part of his work was fine. We had no problem with that. It was the finish aspect of the project that became a problem. **** took an extraordinary amount of time tiling the bathroom, all the while charging us $65/hr. There were days when hardly any tile would go up on the wall while **** was figuring out the tile job ... and adding up the hours. He stepped on the marble floor tile while the thinset was fresh necessitating he spend substantial time fixing that error. His last bill was much higher than his estimate of that same bill a couple of weeks prior. I foolishly paid him before he finished the job but then questioned the amount after the fact. He didn't like me questioning his bill, but pledged to finish the loose ends of the project (in texts and emails). We found that the sink leaked and the hot & cold in the new shower were reversed. Also, he wasn't done caulking. He cashed the check with the job unfinished and we never saw or heard from **** again. I had to finish the job he was paid to complete. His unprofessionalism in walking away from a job after being paid and not finishing the job is ridiculous. He owes us money for not completing the job.
