On my credit report, I see a $25,000 collection and I have no information as to what it is.

The $25k listed on her credit stems from a four year span of unpaid medical services to which ******* has never responded to requests to resolve. She has had multiple mailing addresses and return mail and has hung up on attempts to reach her by phone. The bigger question is why would someone file a BBB complaint instead of simply picking up the phone and calling Fidelity to inquire about the origination of the debts? She clearly had no difficulty finding Fidelity in order to file a complaint but chose not to call the toll free number listed everywhere. We are also in Alliance Ohio, the same city that she received her $25k worth of medical services. The number is 1-800-860-9701, we suggest she call it so that she can be provided with the options to resolve the debts.

We are already in the process of obtaining an itemized statement from ******* ******** ******** since Thad had already filed a complain last Friday with the ******** ********* ********** ******* Generally providing statements is not a big deal but in the case of **** he was well aware of the services as we have talked to him several times since the debt was incurred in 2018 and he never once questioned the validity of the debt. He always refused to make any effort to pay his debt claiming he had no money. I wish we could say he is the first person to play such games and to now pretend he doesn't know what the debt is from but unfortunately it is a rather common tactic. He will receive his itemized statement in a few days and then he can contact us to resolve the outstanding debt.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Fidelity collection has not validated this debt.   I have asked numerous times.  They have told me they would send it at times and other times they flat out said no and to verify through the debtor.  Either way, they have not sent me the information needed to validate the debt.  I contacted the FTC finally after they promised to send it to me again and never did.  I’m done with their lies and antics.  I’m sure this is a regular occurrence with them as I have read numerous complaints filed on the FTC about them.  I do not trust them and will not be satisfied with any closure until they remove the reports or supply me with the full information I need to clear up this matter.  I have tried to verify through the hospital and insurance, and both were not able to supply me with amounts and or dates that I was verbally given by fidelity.  Fidelity wants me to pay a debt that the debtor cannot validate!]

      Regards,

      **** *******

******** ******** sent a bill for my wife which was paid on 06/07/2023 for the amount of $346.05 for services rendered on 02/23/2023. The bill is paid. Fidelity National Collections refuses to acknowledge this bill was paid and has sent me a collection notice. I want them to stop, acknowledge it has already been paid, and leave me and my wife alone. Clearly the attached document shows that the bill has been paid.

Fidelity was already in receipt of the HSA payment received by fax earlier today. We are in the process of requesting an itemized statement from the medical provider to try and determine the discrepancy.

Something clearly does not add up since the HSA payment was done on June 7, 2023 and ******** ******** ******** did not place the debt for collections until March 1, 2024, I'm confident everyone involved can do the math.

We encounter these issues frequently and the result is usually a case of their payment being applied to other debts not placed for collection. That was explained to *** **** when we spoke to him yesterday but of course he just can't fathom that such a thing could and does occur and instead jumped on the internet to file a BBB complaint before giving anyone so much as a single day to investigate the problem.

No one is harassing anyone, Fidelity did not even place one call to them regarding the debt, he called us upon receiving the one and only notice sent out regarding the debt placed with Fidelity from the Hospital. If a mistake was made by the Hospital it will be corrected, if the debt is indeed owed we will gladly pass along to him where his payment was posted last June.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

"As shown in the provided screenshot, I paid the debt of $346.05 on June 28, 2023 for the procedure performed on 2/23/2023. When making the payment, I clearly designated it for the 2/23/2023 procedure. However, ******** ******** incorrectly applied the payment to a procedure on 2/20/2023.

While I understand mistakes can happen, I respectfully assert that I have fulfilled my financial obligation for the 2/23/2023 procedure, and the misallocation of funds by the accounting department is not my responsibility. I kindly request that the hospital rectifies this error and updates their records to reflect my payment for the correct procedure."

The bottom line is this, *** **** made false statements and accusations against Fidelity National Collections in his BBB complaint. He was quickly proven wrong when documentation was mailed to his residence. Fidelity has zero control over how the hospital posts payments sent to them, never have and never will. *** **** needs to retract his complaint against Fidelity and take his issues up with the folks that post the payments. Quite frankly its a silly argument anyway, even if they were to move X amount from one spot to another he is still going to owe the exact same amount.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response from Fidelity National Collections regarding complaint ID 2******* and have determined that the proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

I disagree with Fidelity's accusation that I made false statements. The documentation I provided clearly shows that I had paid the bill in question, and their claim of having "proven me wrong" is unsupported by facts.
While Fidelity may not control how the hospital posts payments, it is their responsibility to ensure their collection practices are based on accurate information. Their failure to recognize that the bill was paid before initiating collection efforts indicates a flawed process.

The dismissive and unprofessional tone in their response, particularly in referring to my complaint as a "silly argument," is inappropriate and unacceptable. A professional organization should address customer concerns with respect, regardless of their perception of the complaint's validity.

I maintain that Fidelity owes me an apology for attempting to collect a paid bill and for their unprofessional conduct in handling my complaint. I have provided sufficient evidence to support my claim and will not retract my statement.

I urge the BBB to carefully consider the evidence presented and hold Fidelity accountable for their actions. Calling a legitimate complaint "silly" and resorting to defensive tactics when proven wrong is unprofessional and indicative of a lack of respect for their customers.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ****

The bill placed at Fidelity is not paid. Validation of the debt was provided. You are not a "customer", we are not looking for repeat business from you. There is no point in continuing this unproductive back and forth. The debt will be here should you decide to resolve it.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I paid the hospital directly on 4/9/2024 for the amount of $346.05.  The bill is paid.  Stop harassing me.  Yes, I am a customer and yes your company has been extremely unprofessional. I sent an additional payment to the hospital on 4/9/2024 so don't act like it's not paid.  My debt was always to the hospital and never toward Fidelity.  It's not my fault you tried to collect a debt that was already paid but the hospital placed it on a different bill and then instead of being professional, call me "silly" and say I go "straight to the internet" for a legitimate concern.

On the morning of 9/21 I called a 1-800 number that I had missed earlier that morning stating they were Fidelity National ***********. They said that they have a bill for me from a doctor we haven’t been to in over a year. Due to that I asked for debt verification so that I knew what I was paying and they have now refused 3 times to provide me with anything verifying this debt. Since they are refusing, I am also concerned that they have health information on my daughter, a minor, from that long ago. They keep refusing and I have a right to be provided with verification.

She was provided with the date of service and name of medical provider. Since she is unable to recall what her daughter was treated for we will request an itemized statement from the medical provider and mail it to her to explain why she still owes $30.00.

I reviewed my Consumer Reports and noticed that there was an inaccurate account on my credit report. I am not liable for this debt with ******** ********* ** ****, I do not have a contract with ******** ********** **** ************, they did not provide me with the original contract as I requested. Consumer Reporting Agencies have assumed a vital role and have a responsibility to report Consumer information to the best of their ability with maximum accuracy. I contacted ******** *********** *** and asked for them to investigate & remove the inaccurate account from my consumer report that they are illegally reporting and I requested specifically the alleged original application bearing my signature and they have not been able to provide such proof to me. In the entire dispute provided by Dominique ****** there are two things that are actually true. 1)We do have a debt in our system under the name Dominique ******. 2) The debt is owed to ******** *********. Everything else stated is a fabrication. We have never in any way been contacted by Dominique ******, no phone calls, no letters, not even an e-Oscar online dispute. If she had contacted Fidelity to dispute the debt we would have provided her with validation of the debt just as we do with anyone who has had a debt placed with our office, that's what we do. We will now request itemization from the original medical provider and forward it to Dominique, she will however need to provide a current mailing address, that was conveniently left out of her dispute sent to the BBB. A collection notice was sent to the address she provided the medical provider and was successfully delivered according to US Postal Service but since she is claiming to have no knowledge of the debt we are going to assume the address she provided back in August of 2021 is no longer correct. We also attempted to call her at the phone number she gave at the time the services were rendered to her but it was also no longer correct. The debt has now been flagged as disputed for credit reporting purposes as we wait for Dominique to provide us with a correct mailing address and for ******** to provide us with itemization of the debt.

******* ********* debt is owed to ********* ***** of Boardman who are the ones that placed her debt in collections back on 12-31-21 so of course she would not have a contract with Fidelity. Savanah Has never directly contacted Fidelity in any fashion to properly dispute her debt. If she would like to do so she can simply call our office at ************** or put her request in writing, we will gladly request an itemized statement from the original medical provider and forward it to Savanah, that is called "Validation of the Debt." For what it is worth, the wording used in this dispute is identical to many "robo-disputes" used over the years in bogus BBB complaints, meaning they are likely not the actual words composed by the person filing the compliant. Feel free to compare to past complaints made against Fidelity.

I have this medical debt appearing on my ********** and ******** credit file, from Fidelity Properties The issues with these are as follows: -This debt was never properly submitted to my medical insurance by the creditor, during the one year timeframe they had to submit their claim. -This debt is under $500. Th three major credit bureaus have agreed to remove from credit files beginning in 2023, and have yet to do so. They need to be removed immediately. -I have disputed the validity of these directly with the creditor, and cannot get any resolve or answers, just run around.

He will need to contact our office to provide more details or present an actual credit bureau reference number (all debts have them) in order to review the so called debts he is referring to. He makes no mention of attempting to contact Fidelity with his concerns before filing a BBB complaint.

The work phone on your account (debt) was removed the minute you requested no work calls, long before your complaint to the BBB. We adhere to collection laws, your flawed interpretations of conversations and visions into the future are not legitimate grounds for a BBB complaint.

The debts in question are from ******** *** ************** ************* located in ******** *** *** ****** had services rendered on Oct 22, 2021 and Oct 25,2021 and failed to pay. The debts were placed for collections on Feb 18, 2022. Mr. ****** called our office on Mar 1, 2022 after receiving the collection notice sent on 2-23-22. He refused to pay the bills stating his health insurance should have paid and we never heard from him again until now. Clearly his complaint has major flaws, he is well aware of the debts and there is nothing bogus about it. The debts were flagged as disputed for credit reporting purposes ever since our conversation with him. They will stay marked as disputed and will continue to report to the credit bureaus until paid. Health insurance coverage is a third party and it will be up to Mr. ****** and them to resolve any issues or problems that may exist, only Mr. ****** is legally responsible for the medical bills involved here.

An outstanding charge was paid in full on Feb 12th 2022, on Feb 15th of the same year this was turned over to Fidelity Property Management for collections. This claim was placed on my credit report on July 1 of 2022 for non payment. After speaking with Fidelity Property Management they are unwilling to remove the file from my credit report, claiming that the reversal document was never received for the original biller. Having read through the previous reports and complaints on this company, this seems to be a standard practice of their business. I have contacted my attorney in hopes to get this matter resolved quickly, and not have to wait months for Fidelity Property Management to reverse the claim, thus impeding my credit. Any help you could provide would be appreciated regarding this matter. Thank You, ******* ******

      Business response

      07/15/2022

Deletion letters to the credit bureaus were already mailed July 13, 2022 per the request of the medical provider ********* ******. They failed to inform Fidelity of the payment received back in Feb 2022 which resulted in the debts sitting in collections for months and eventually getting reported to the credit bureaus. ********* also failed to respond to the initial collection notice sent to him on Feb 18, 2022. If he had done so the matter could have been addressed and all problems would have been avoided. Fidelity is the one party in this scenario that did not "drop the ball". The reviews ********* has referred to are not submitted by our clients (customers) but rather by people that have debts in collections. It should come as no surprise they are not glowing with praise.
