Was hired in December 2022 actual exchange of money happened in March 2023 no contract was signed he asked for $40,500 upfront to buy building materials for the Room Addition for my 80-year-old mother. He seemed honest to us he was young. He was a smooth talker. He was excited he told us he was a preacher. He actually prayed with us over the dining room table over this whole commitment to build a place for my mom, he deceived us. We gave him the cash money to start the process. The process actually wasn’t started at all until May 2023. I asked him if he had experience laying a foundation being a contractor doing this kind of job and he owe most assuredly, he assured us , he was believable the first two weeks into the job. I kept questioning the look of what he was doing. He was actually creating a foundation for her apartment to be on. I was building her a Mom suite he purchase block and proceeded to build a foundation I had him stop twice the second time I asked him to stop , I called the county inspector and he came out and looked at the job and he read flagged it immediately. He said he’s never seen such shoddy work in all his career. He told me that it needed to be ripped out and started all over. there was places in the foundation that was 5 inches off. The footer itself was like a little snake it it went side to side. It went up and down. Nothing was level . He actually shaved block to make things level. The block was not standard foundation block. It was cheap block anyway I asked him to give us our money back. I said we would no longer need his services. He offered to make it right and I told him I said it should’ve never of been wrong. I said you clearly deceived us you clearly did not know what you were doing, and I couldn’t trust him any further to build onto my home a place for my mother to reside with me. She would not have been safe if I had let her let him continue. I asked him for the money back $40,500. He looked at me and he says I spent it on other jobs and I asked him I said, why would you do that? I said that was money for my mom for this apartment for her , he says I’ll get your money to you. I asked him not to come back onto the property unless I was home. I reached out to him so many times by text by email. I’m sorry not email my phone I got no response from him to give me my money back, he kept arguing with me and then finally the response is stopped. I’ve contacted the states attorney general I’ve contacted adult protective services of ********* County. I’ve been contacted the county prosecutor of ********* County. I found his name through ******* and I contacted them and filed a formal complaint with them. He did not reach out to them when he was contacted by them he did once and he said that I broke a contract and I told ******* that I did not break a contract because there was no contract to break. I said have him show you want and that’s the last of ***** saw about him , my next step was file on the plate with the Better Business Bureau and then I can also file a complaint with ****. They have a fraud protection program it cost $13,000 to clean his mess up so I am in search of $40,500 that I gave to him plus I’d like the 13,000 that it cost to clean is messed up. I should not had to of had anything like that. This was an exciting time for me and my mother to bring her home to live out her golden years with me I should’ve never had to go through anything like that .
