**** put in a front door with sidelight and a sliding glass patio door. The front door was fine. It fit fine and it was done nicely. The patio door on the other hand was not big enough for our opening so he had to fill in quite a bit around the top and sides with aluminum. He a told us he would have to fill in a little bit around the outside, but what was done was way more than expected. His caulking job was terrible. He was actually heard on our cameras saying that is looked like a 3 year old did it. Later, he said it looked like ****, but there was nothing he could do about it now! What professional continues to work when he is aware of how it looks? He took our money and never said a word. When I saw it, I had my husband question it.He said he would come back to do a better caulk job. In the meantime, almost every time I go out the door, I trip over the threshhold. It is a good 3 inches tall on the inside. I had company, and they tripped over it as well. That seems to be a hazard to me. I had him come to discuss what could be done. He said he ordered what was on the estimate (60X68). This is what our home plans said the original door was as well so I didn't question it. I assumed this door person who has worked for 30 years knew what he was doing. When questioned, he said that the standard 60x68 is no longer the actual size of 72"x80" which is what I assumed it would have been. Not once did he say how big of a gap there would be and offer another option. I am not a door person, nor in construction so I don't know about these things. I believe he should have been clear about this upfront. I feel I should be getting the size that I thought I should receive (72"x80"). He said he could drop the door 1 1/2" but then the gap at the top would be even bigger. It already looks terrible. The door doesn't even sit on the sill. He was supposed to put 1/4" round around the top but instead cut some old oak to put at the top and bottom. Then lied, saying there was a shortage.
