      12/28/2021

I booked a room at Embassy Suites online through booking.com. I thought I was getting a better price, but turns out I wasn't. My husband and I came to celebrate getting married and to just getaway. We planned on staying in a quality room and having a quality experience but we did not receive either. I arrived to check- in a little after 3 pm in the afternoon on Thursday, December 23, 2021. I hung around in the reservation area for quite some time unsure of the delay. I watched several people check-in before I was told that there was a payment problem, but not on my end. Apparently, booking. coms card declined due to insufficient funds when I had paid them $155.00 for my stay. A young lady at the front desk named Coco was kind and offered me a snack while I waited, and I accepted. Finally, I was able to get checked into the hotel. I was given room keys to 229 on the second floor. The elevator looked like it was falling apart. When I entered the room it felt and looked dirty. The carpet looked nasty, the shower curtain was torn and tattered and there was a stain of some substance running down the wall. Some of the lights worked and others didn't. I went back to the front desk to request a different room, and my request was granted. I was moved to room 330 on the third floor. This room was a bit better as it looked and felt cleaner than the room on the second floor I had moved from. Once again some of the lights worked and others didn't; I noticed the counter in the hallway by the sink was not clean and I got my ****** wipes from the car. The sink in the bathroom didn't drain and I was told that maintenance was coming, but I guess they failed to come as the problem persisted. Then while resting, I became very ho so I went to adjust the thermostat and discovered a blank screen. I called the front desk after 1 am to ask about this issue. I spoke with **** who said there was a power outage due to a driver hitting a power pole. After expressing my thoughts, **** said I would be comped for my stay and he'd enter a note on my account. The air didn't resume working until 4:45 am. At check out in the morning, I asked about ****'s note to comp my stay. The representative, Coco, at the desk said that there were no notes from ****. She also reminded me that since I booked through a third party, that it would be difficult to refund me my money. I cannot tell you how let down I am with my stay and experience here at this hotel. The name Embassy Suites is generally associated with words like luxury, quality, exceptional, elegant, classy, upscale, high-end; however, words like trashy, shabby, worn down, dirty, unkept, falling apart, grimy, low class, nasty, filthy and poor quality have replaced the former. Many 1 star reviews of this hotel suggest the same thing. I do not plan on booking a room at this location in the future and would like to comped for my stay as **** stated on the phone. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. *************************
