My attorney requested that I begin to send additional payments to him in the event my divorce would be forced into executing a trial versus a settlement in front of a magistrate. He informed me that if we do not go to trial, he would send any money back to me that was not required for the trial amount. This conversation was an in-person conversation when I dropped off and additional $1500 via personal check to my attorney on 1/23/2024 My attorney was very detached from the details of my requests for settlement. During the settlement in front of the magistrate, he did not include items that I requested to be added to the decree, which will cost me additional money after the sale of our home. He did not include the debt of my vehicle, refusal to continue to pay my ex-wife’s debt. In fact, the day prior to settlement, when I was supposed to be present, I spoke with my attorney by phone asking whether I needed to be present the following day which was February 21, 2024. He communicated that I DID NOT. The next day, February 21, 2024, my attorney calls me while he’s at the courthouse stating that I was expected to be present for a settlement discussion with the magistrate. He informed me that his form of communication to me was via email which should’ve been a phone call since it was a last-minute change. This put me in a bind to get away from work and get to the courthouse. I arrived totally unprepared and underdressed for such a meeting. When we sat together to create my side of the divorce, decree request, it felt as though my attorney had never met me before. He had no idea of my credit debt, which I had only two credit cards, he seemed not to understand any of the requests that I desired for this divorce decree. We have been working together for almost 22 months and it did not feel as though I was a priority. I am requesting the amount of $1500 back from my attorney. I paid him $3000 within the month of January which was not required.

I contacted this office to modify an existing a Will and create a Trust. The Will has not been modified and the Trust Document was so poorly written that I have refused to sign it. After 5 months and several requests for a refund I don't have a refund, a Will or a Trust.
