I am well aware that the warranty is expired. As the current owner of the home built by KHov, I believe I am entitled to know issues that were not disclosed to me that were supposedly “fixed”. I am very disgusted by the poor quality of work, as I pointed out in my original complaint. How can baseboards be wavy? How can a large crack that goes from the bottom of the window to the floor not be covered before the end of the warranty? I thought doors leading from the house to the garage had to be fire safe (self closing). Isn’t that code? It’s obvious that KHov doesn’t care, as they have “better lawyers” as stated in other complaints. The company is huge and constructs houses like they are on an assembly line. The quicker the better with no regard for quality.

Self-closing doors were removed from the code years ago, the garage service door only requires to be fire rated.

Far as the other concerns we followed the NHAB guidelines.

I purchased a home in a 55+ community built by KHovnanian. The home was three years old. There were issues that were not disclosed by the original owners. The wall in the great room had been torn out twice to fix bowed studs. The repair work is sub par. The baseboard trim is now wavy, because of the repair. The floors are not level. The home is on a slab with no subfloor, thus they are uneven.. None of the interior doors are level, and three of them will not close. Most of the cabinet doors are not level. There are trim pieces missing such as the “drip pan” for the threshold of the door to the garage, which is not a fire-safe door. The water pressure is very low in the faucet in the master bath. There is a large crack underneath the south window and on the ceiling in the dining room. The homes in this development were built very cheaply, but the homeowners were charged a premium for them!

The original owner closed on the home 1-15-20 . The homeowner warranty expired on 1-15-21 . The items referenced here has been explained to ***** **** that these would not be a warrantable,

So I wrote a review on this website before because if issues with garage door, paint and bathroom. Now after less then 3 years living in this house we have to replace all the windows because if how horrible they were installed!!!! THREE years!!!!!! Beyond upset is an understatement. We brought this concern up in our warranty time and the guy was a joking saying we have no wind block thats the issue well nope you guys just suck! I repeat never build with them! Over $300,000 house and still putting thousands into to fixing all their mistakes. Makes me sick.

We are truly sorry you feel this way. With it being 2 degrees and 40 to 60 MPH winds gust this weekend we cant control the windows leaking some cold air. This is beyond a builders control.

The worst business to deal with. We built a house in 2021. It took four months longer to finish that promised. Things are left undone. We have been living without a garage door since December. We have called several times about when the garage door will be in and nobody will return a call. Garbage was left all over the property with the promise someone would be out to clean it up, it never happened. Little jobs left undone and again nobody will return a call. Terrible customer service.

I spoke to the homeowner today. She is looking for her garage door. I explained the delays we are having, and I called and talked to ** **** and they told me they have her on for May18. I then called her back and gave her that info and she was very appreciative. All good for now.

This has not been resolved. I talked to the garage door company today who is now saying the doors are backordered until at least July. We still do not have a door. They never put a temporary door on as promised. We have been living without a garage door since we moved in in December. We are now getting mice in the garage.

Unfortunately garage doors are our biggest supply chain problem .This has been challenging for all vendors far as backordered doors . This door was installed on 5-17-22 .We do apologize for the delay.

Still waiting on one garage door. Signed contract for house on 1/15/2021. Had to put out $1,200 to purchase a temporary garage door that does not match from a local garage door company. Homeowner left us on December 28th with no door and nothing covering the door opening. Although we understand supply chain issues the house contract was signed 1.5 years ago. Builder does not offer any assistance such as a replacement of door.

What I thought started out great ended up being a nightmare. K. Hovnanian was very fast at getting back to us and answering any questions and then after we signed a contract with them, they went sometimes months at a time without responding. After a year they contacted us just as we finalized all of the prints, and told us they couldn't proceed with our contract if we didn't pay an additional $65,000 and told us we had two weeks to decide. After I told them we wouldn't be able to afford it and asked if we would be getting our earnest money back, they said we would not as they had already used it for our prints. To add insult to injury, several of the men who work there refused to speak to me and only called my husband. My number was the only one listed on the contract and in the entire year we were working with them, they had only ever spoken to me as mu husband is unable to take phone calls at work. After contacting me about a perceived issue with bath tub dimensions, I was less then agreeable at which point they decided to only contact my husband and to only send him the items that needed to signed even though my name was first on the contract. It's 2022 and gender discrimination is alive and well at K. Hovnanian. Buyer beware. They will get you so far into the process and then put you off until they can raise the price and you have no choice but pay or all the time you have spent is lost and you are without a home. These people are awful and disgusting.

This customer has been under contract for over a year and having significant delays due to the approval process of the subdivision in which they were looking to build. The customer wished to explore another property. Due to the age and change, we can no longer honor their contract pricing.

We started out with great business but in the end the business is horrible. We will never build with them again. Our garage door is still not in and we have been in our new house for almost a year. The paint job was done horrible that we can not wait for the year mark is up that way we can repaint our house. Then to find out that after a month of our house being done they fired the painters!! So upsetting. Then they used caulk to cover up our upstairs bath tub crack which we will have to pay to replace. Again I would never tell anyone to build with them. I am truly disappointed with it all. Then to have no response back from the team when we are none stop asking about the garage door.

We at K. Hovnanian Homes understand the frustration Mr. and Mrs. **** have. There are supply chain concerns due to Covid and garage doors are one of the biggest challenges and are many homes waiting . Temporary garage doors have been installed on those homes and will be swapped out once the new ones are available. The damage to the bath tub was reported long after the closing of the home which unfortunately is not covered under the Limited Warranty Agreement. The paint is a flat paint and there were no concerns noted at the closing. We will have the foreman reach out to them. Thank you
