On April 14th I was in an accident. Approximately two days later Kempthorn Collision received the vehicle for repairs. About two months in we went to pick up the vehicle only to notice things were not properly fixed. Paint not matching, new paint scraped off front driver's side column. Which wasn't missing before. Along with other issues. We were told it would not take long to fix these problems and they just needed to get parts. Today July 17th I went to pick the vehicle up and thought things looked great until I noticed a new scratch with paint missing and white paint left on my vehicle and the display unit inside my vehicle was broken. Something that was not broken before. They left a dash mold clip in my vehicle which means they did something. The guy told me its just a problem jeeps have and he looked it up! Why would you look it up if you didn't break it? I was also handed my keys and told to get of the **** property. Ive contacted the insurance company that handled the claim but I am absolutely not pleased!Business response

We have spoken to the customer and handled the situation since this was posted. Kempthorn Collision Center covered the costs that the insurance company would not and sent a check to the customer.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.We had told Kempthorn the exact amount it would cost to fix the problem. I sent this exact photo, by email to Mr. K******** and was called numerous times with lowball offers on fixing the issue. (All lower than the actual cost of fixing)
I was then told to take my reviews of the company down in order to get any compensation from them. So I complied with what they wanted. I don't have an extra $830 laying around!
They sent $675 which is lower than all the estimates we received from many different dealerships.
We just wanted the damage fixed that occurred on their lot, while the vehicle was in their possession. They were going to let us drive off the lot without telling us. That's not being honest!
It wasn't until I noticed that they told me they knew about it. They weren't going to tell us? There were also clips from the dashboard where they pulled the radio out, laying in the cupholder?
I was told that they tried to reset the radio? Why do that if they didn't break it?
Like I said before we just wanted reimbursed for what YOU broke!

Completed credit application w/Grant at Kempthorne Motors. Received call back couple days later from Grant, application approved for few different vehicles. Returned July 31, 2023 was *told only one vehicle was approved by lender. Inside of of car filled with *pet hair*. Put on seatbelt and the *ding sound* reminder to put on seatbelt kept dinging asked about it and was told * that's because no one is in passenger seat*. Two blocks into test drive *gas light come on*. While driving I noticed either *alignments or frame was broken*. I did sign paperwork and put down $1500.. Was told I needed to bring in proof of insurance and their service department would clean out *pet hair* and to return Wednesday August 2, 2023 to pick up vehicle. As I stated before I did sign and pay. My car was totaled two months ago and I was desperate to get to works and various medical appointments. ****** financial said don't worry to drive for no more than seven days returns are easy if not happy. Once at home started thinking about all the red flags with this car. Call Grant three times Tuesday August 1, 2023 tell him I changed my mind about that vehicle. Left voice messages because he want not answer. He called/texted Wednesday, asked when was I coming for car responded didn't want that car. He told me thanks and I would receive down pay ment back. Please help. I transferred $1200 from savings into checking used my debit card and $300 on credit card. The $300 was returned to my credit card. That $1200 is a lot of money for me and I still don't have a car without that down payment being returned to me.Business response
